The UK has concluded that Iran was involved in the incident at the RAF base in Fairford, confirming the IRGC’s willingness to project hostile activity beyond its borders. These actions are unacceptable and must cease. We stand in full solidarity with the UK.

The UK stands with the International Criminal Court and we stand united with our partners in strongly disagreeing with sanctions imposed on the Court.
The ICC must be permitted to continue its critical work holding perpetrators of the most horrific international crimes to account.
ALT We, the undersigned States Parties to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC), reaffirm our continued and unwavering support for the independence, impartiality, and integrity of the ICC. As committed supporters of the ICC we regret and strongly disagree with the announcement of sanctions to be imposed upon the Court by the United States. If put into effect, these sanctions will have a significant impact on the Court’s work, its dedicated staff and their families. They work every day to bring those accused of the most serious international crimes to justice and to support their victims. We remain both united in our support for the ICC and committed to engaging in constructive and inclusive dialogue with non-States Parties as we prepare for the Assembly of States Parties in December 2026. We will continue to work together to support the Court’s vital work, uphold the rules-based international system, and advance accountability.

I had a good conversation with the new British Prime Minister @Andyburnham. The friendship between the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, as North Sea neighbours, is very strong: from trade and AI to the energy transition, and from human rights to our security and defence.
We both recognise the ongoing need to support Ukraine and the leading role the UK plays in the Coalition of the Willing. The Netherlands will also help to strengthen ties between the UK and the EU.
As NATO partners, the UK and the Netherlands are investing in (joint) defence projects and together we are preparing a mission to guarantee freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, when circumstances permit.
I look forward to continuing our cooperation with Andy Burnham. We will meet soon in London or The Hague.

Goed gesprek gehad met de nieuwe Britse premier @andyburnham. De vriendschap tussen Nederland en het Verenigd Koninkrijk als North Sea Neighbours is erg hecht: van handel en AI tot de energietransitie, en van mensenrechten tot onze veiligheid en defensie.
We zien allebei de blijvende noodzaak van steun aan Oekraïne en de leidende rol die het VK speelt in de Coalition of the Willing. Nederland zal daarnaast helpen om de banden tussen het VK en de EU te versterken.
Het VK en Nederland investeren als NAVO-partners in (gezamenlijke) defensieprojecten en gezamenlijk bereiden we een missie voor om vrije scheepvaart in de Straat van Hormuz te garanderen, wanneer de omstandigheden dat toelaten.
Ik zie uit naar de verdere samenwerking met Andy Burnham. We treffen elkaar snel in Londen of Den Haag.

Vandaag precies 12 jaar geleden verloren 298 onschuldige mensen het leven bij het neerhalen van vlucht MH17. Voor altijd is 17 juli 2014 een zwarte bladzijde in de Nederlandse geschiedenis.
In Vijfhuizen bij het Nationaal Monument worden elk jaar op deze dag de slachtoffers herdacht. Alle 298 namen worden genoemd. Om zo de herinnering aan elk van hen levend te houden.
Om stil te staan bij het gemis en verdriet. Zodat zij in gedachten voortleven.
Ik wens de nabestaanden op deze moeilijke dag veel sterkte en troost toe.

Mooi nieuws! In Ankara ondertekende ik samen met premier @Keir_Starmer een nieuw maritiem partnerschap tussen onze landen, goed voor bijna 3 miljard euro.
Nederlandse en Britse bedrijven gaan samen voor elk van onze landen vier van de meest geavanceerde amfibische transportschepen te bouwen.
Deze deal levert honderden banen op en betekent een belangrijke impuls voor de NAVO als het gaat om het tegengaan van maritieme dreigingen.

Good news! In Ankara, I signed a new maritime partnership between our countries with Prime Minister @Keir_Starmer, worth nearly 3 billion euros.
Dutch and British companies will work together to build four of the most advanced amphibious transport ships for each of our countries.
This deal will create hundreds of jobs and provides a significant boost to NATO in its efforts to counter maritime threats.
