Replying to @domainpro
What you're seeing is speculation and some brand protection which is valid. You just don't do away with 50 years of a term ingrained into people's vocabulary just because someone says so. In any case, there would still be brand protection coming in any scenario from both sides.
Hey @namecheapceo123 @Namecheap can we please put the purchase details back in our email reciepts??? I already have to deal with this nonsense from amazon, not you too plz

Hypothetically, if si ever did gain traction all it would do is confuse the market and make .com even more valuable.
So whats the answer here? Buy and build our portfolios like a mother f'r until we're totally priced out?
Domain investors are finding out what every trader eventually learns: as a market matures, the easy margins get squeezed.
When I traded options on the floor, the margins were juicy. A seat cost $300K, which gave us a pretty nice moat. We made the market for the sales and the only person going to beat you was in a pit. Then computers showed up and squeezed those spreads to pennies.
Making a living got harder, but people still make tens of millions trading. Smaller margins mean you need more volume, bigger size, or a better edge to make the same money.
We're watching that happen in domains. The buy side keeps getting more efficient. Everyone has better tools to find names, price them, and compete for them. Selling hasn't kept pace.
That's where I think the next round of efficiencies will benefit investors. I don't believe marketplaces can keep taking 20% or more of a sale forever. Those commissions will face pressure too, and lower selling costs can offset some of the margin lost to higher acquisition costs.
So yes, the points below are fair. But this is a familiar progression for anyone who has participated in a maturing market.
Domain investors aren't used to any of this but older people have seen this many times. You play the same game but in a new way. We have to adapt or leave.
. @namesilo is a cancer to expired domain auctions
live look at @namejet engineers trying to fix the link error in their daily emails that sends you to a .png link instead of back to their auctions
Dynadot is now syndicating Dropcatch auctions to their platform, because everything sucks now. Here is their bidder ID
FINALLY

Let’s just get this out of the way: yes there will be a .fart fight domainincite.com/31871-lets-… #icann #newgtlds #domains
I love @Dynadot, but i will never forgive them for creating this bullshit dax auction syndication system, and i'll forever be reminded, not b/c I have to see the same auction slop everywhere, but b/c I constantly outbid myself forgetting that I already bid elsewhere. 😡
