God willing, my goal for the new year is to finish making #AtlanteanExodus ttrpg—at least the final ruleset—the art will take longer to commission.
“…who by faith conquered kingdoms, did what was righteous, obtained the promises; they closed the mouths of lions, put out raging fires, escaped the devouring sword; out of weakness they were made powerful, became strong in battle, & turned back foreign invaders.”
- Heb 11:33-34
First frost of the season here. Garden is done until spring. #gardening
Oh, and...
7. Rolling Meteor Swarm damage is very satisfying (40d6).
Thoughts on Dungeon of the Mad Mage upon completion:
1. Easy to DM; good book layout, maps, etc.
2. Not enough treasure.
3. Not enough traps.
4. Monsters are too weak; unchallenging.
5. Wizards in 5e are neutered by concentration and lack of spells per level, especially higher level spells.
6. Paladins are ridiculously powerful in 5e.

The Wasteland is just about the most right-wing thing ever penned. It's a Jeremiad lamenting the collapse of Western civilization after WWI.
Lefties claim it and twist the meaning because it is their instinct so hoard all art considered great.

Loved ones used to be buried in church cemeteries or on the family land. Modern peoples have “celebration of life” services instead of funerals. Even weddings were once marked, in part, by solemnity.
People have become disconnected to the cycle of life in every aspect of life. They have forgotten that evildoers are supposed to suffer, and that others are to look to their punishment pensively. For some, it is confirmation of justice. For others, it gives them pause to reconsider their own lives.
The modern world is sanitized and disconnected from the fullness of human experience. Everything harsh or painful is hidden in secret or rebranded as joyful. But there is a time and a season for all things.
Many are assuming that public executions are meant as a violent spectacle or an occasion for bloodlust. But as prescribed in the Bible and practiced throughout Christendom, public executions were meant as a punishment for shocking acts of wickedness, a deterrent to provoke fear in other evildoers, and a chance for the entire society to remember the severe justice of our holy God, as well as the dangers of unrestrained sinful behavior. When public executions are not practiced, society is deprived of these clear benefits, and evil flourishes to the detriment of the innocent.
“…[A]bout the literature of our times, I cannot find better words to describe it than the expression “it has no soul.” Contemporary civilization has destroyed the soul of literature, as of everything else to which it has turned its gracious attention.” - G.I. Gurdjieff, Meetings with Remarkable Men

Puffball mushrooms are putting in an appearance in the garden as we move into autumn. #gardening
Harvesting the sweet potatoes. Yielded 23 lbs. Might have been more if we had a longer and warmer season this year. #gardening
