One potential reason that we are seeing this? LV Samples appear to be older than RV Samples, and whiter. In most of the Marist polls in the second wave, at least, we are seeing this trend.

This is a timely time to remind folks that Activote “polls” are not real polls either.
Their respondents supposedly consist ENTIRELY of people who RESPOND ON THEIR STUPID APP.
They’re nearly as fake as Wedgewood, tho AFAIK they’re not actively defrauding people like Wedgewood.

We were investigating Wedgewood for faking their data and emailed them for comment this morning, ahead of publishing the findings tomorrow. They are trying to cover up their fraud with the "we were doing a social experiment" excuse.

This is incredibly misleading. @50plus1news was planning to publish an investigation into Wedgewood's polls tomorrow morning, and reached out to them this morning for comment. This is just an attempt to save face after they realized we caught them.

I have a massive issue with Wedgewood, and now I can finally talk about it. Back when they were first getting started, they were looking for people to increase credibility to presumably get on 50+1/NYT, and these poll-tracking accounts.
We had contacted them, just because we were curious, and they had offered to do a poll for $200. Their reasoning for it being so cheap is that they wanted to get their name out, and they were going to "eat most of the costs" from a $10,000 grant. That being said, we thought it was low-risk, so at worst, it would just be a low-quality poll.
However, after we paid them, he gave us a poll and claimed the poll was completed in less than a day. We got this despite it being a national poll with an LV sample! We knew right away it was fake, but because of difficulties tracking down the owner and possible risks, we didn't want to say anything. He clearly used Claude, and I hope this whole thing leads to higher standards being practiced by everyone, from polling tracking accounts to polling averages.
