@thechrisgolden A few months ago @JeffPanzer2 suggested I put an ad in a local newspaper about the concert you are doing here. The ad came out much larger than I thought & runs all Oct.

How does this make sense? My health ins won’t pay for a refill of a script w/o prior authorization call by the office that did the script 2 months ago. Did my health ins think I made it up?

Before the Spotlight Before the major artists, before the record labels, and before his name became familiar behind some of the most memorable music videos of his generation, Jeff Panzer was simply a young producer finding his way through the entertainment business. His early career began in television, where he learned the business from the inside out. Working in music production and entertainment programming gave Jeff something that would become one of his greatest strengths: the ability to see the bigger picture. He understood the music, but he also understood the story. The image. The moment. And, most importantly, the people behind the artist. That combination eventually led him from television into the record business and music-video production where the stakes were bigger, the audiences were larger, and the right opportunity could change everything. Then came one of the projects that would help change the trajectory of his career. Boy George. In 1992, Jeff became involved with The Crying Game, the Boy George single connected to the acclaimed film of the same name. The project brought together music, film and visual storytelling in a way that perfectly suited Jeff’s emerging talents. It was more than another production. It was a turning point. The project earned an MTV Video Music Award nomination for Best Video from a Film and suddenly, Jeff Panzer was no longer just the person working behind the scenes. People were starting to notice the person behind the camera. And this was only the beginning. Then the Calls Started Coming After The Crying Game, the opportunities began to change. Jeff was no longer simply looking for his next project. The industry was beginning to look for him. His ability to bring together music, story and visual identity made him the kind of producer artists and record companies wanted in their corner. He understood that a music video wasn’t just a few minutes of footage it was an introduction to an artist, a piece of their identity, and sometimes the image the world would remember. The projects got bigger. The names got bigger. Jeff continued building his reputation through work with artists including The Proclaimers, Billy Idol and others, while moving deeper into the record label side of the business. And then came another important chapter: Universal Records. By the mid-1990s, Jeff had moved into a position where he wasn’t simply producing individual videos. He was helping shape the visual direction of music on a much larger scale. That distinction matters. Because Jeff wasn’t chasing fame for himself. He was helping create it for other people. And over the years, that philosophy would put him in rooms with some of the biggest names in music. The artist list would eventually become extraordinary. But the story isn’t really about the names. It’s about the man behind them.@JeffPanzer2
🎙️ THERE’S SOMETHING DIFFERENT ABOUT JEFF PANZER I’ve been thinking about my conversation with Jeff Panzer since that X Space a few days ago. And I realized something. What makes Jeff stand out isn’t simply the number of artists he’s worked with. It isn’t the credits. It isn’t even the incredible career he’s built. It’s what he remembers. Jeff has spent decades in an industry where history was being made in real time. He’s been in rooms most of us will never enter. He’s seen artists before they became household names. He’s witnessed the conversations, the personalities, the creative decisions, the pressure, the excitement and the absolute craziness that can happen behind the scenes. And here’s the thing: Those stories aren’t always written down. They’re carried by the people who were there. That’s why I find Jeff fascinating. You can Google an artist’s discography. You can Google a music video. You can Google who received an award. But you can’t Google the look on someone’s face when something unexpected happened in the room. You can’t Google the conversation that changed a project. You can’t Google what it was really like to work with someone before the world knew their name. That’s where experience becomes history. And Jeff has a LOT of history. What impressed me during our conversation was how naturally he shared his knowledge. He wasn’t just dropping names. He was giving us context. And context changes everything. It allows you to look at the music, the entertainment industry, and even some of the biggest names we’ve known for years through a completely different lens. That’s a rare gift. So, Jeff, if you ever wonder whether people are listening when you share those stories… WE ARE. Because the stories behind the stories are sometimes the ones we remember the longest. And I think there’s still a whole lot more of your story that people need to hear. 🎙️🎬🎶 Jeff Panzer isn’t just someone who witnessed music history. He’s someone who can tell you what it looked like from inside the room. And THAT is something you can’t put on a résumé. ❤️ ~Carmen Love @JeffPanzer2
