Traffic Enforcement Keeps Our Roads Safer
Today, officers from the Bellevue Police Department , in partnership with the Sarpy County Traffic Safety Task Force, conducted focused traffic enforcement throughout our community.
The goal isn’t to write tickets; it’s to reduce crashes, prevent injuries, and encourage safe driving habits. Every traffic stop is an opportunity to remind drivers that small choices behind the wheel can have life-changing consequences.
Whether you’re commuting to work, running errands, or heading home to your family, you can help make our roads safer by:
Obeying posted speed limits
Putting the phone down while driving
Buckling up every trip, every time
Never driving impaired
Staying alert for pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorcyclists
Thank you to our law enforcement partners for working together to keep Sarpy County roads safe.
Remember… getting there a few minutes later is always better than not getting there at all.

Tater and I are having a great time at Hoop It Up at Oak View Mall! We’ve enjoyed meeting players, spectators, and even members of the Nebraska Cornhuskers Basketball Team!
Tater may not have much of a jump shot, but he’s definitely winning the crowd! @BellevuePolice #GBR

Would you believe the driver of this vehicle didn’t want to stick around for the police to arrive? Officers are currently tracking down the owner to see what exactly happened.

Friendly reminder that under Nebraska Revised Statute 28-1202.04, anyone carrying a concealed handgun must immediately inform a peace officer or emergency services personnel that they are armed the moment official contact is made.

WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL, BELLEVUE
The backpacks are packed, the pencils are sharpened, and parents everywhere are wondering how summer went by THAT fast.
As students across Bellevue head back to the classroom, the Bellevue Police Department wants to wish all of our students, teachers, administrators, and school staff an AWESOME first day of school!
Drivers, remember: School zones are back in action! Slow down, put the phone away, watch for children crossing the street, and give those school buses plenty of room. A few extra minutes on your commute is a small price to pay for keeping our kids safe.
And students… remember to listen to your teachers, be kind to one another, work hard, and make this year one to remember!
To our friends at Bellevue Public Schools and every student walking through those doors today:
Welcome back! Have a safe, successful, and AMAZING school year!
Now parents… enjoy that first peaceful cup of coffee. You earned it.
