BNSF has been named a 2026 Patriots in Business Award honoree for its support of veterans, active service members and military families.
The award reflects the many ways Team BNSF supports the military community, including recruiting and developing veteran talent, honoring military service and fostering connections through our Business Resource and Veterans Engagement (BRAVE) business resource group.
Thank you to our service members, veterans and their families who make the work we do every day possible.

Please join me in thanking @HaltomCityPD Police Chief Cody Phillips for his service and contributions to the North Texas Police Chief's Association.
It was a pleasure to serve alongside him for the past couple of years as the 2027 Board was sworn in today.
Congratulations to Midlothian Police Chief Carl Smith on being sworn in as President.
Outstanding work being accomplished on behalf of North Texas communities by this Board of true professionals who love serving and making a positive difference.

Today, we're proud to announce our exclusive partnership with Overhaul to strengthen freight security across our network.
The expanded collaboration seamlessly connects BNSF’s police department and technologies with Overhaul’s real-time risk intelligence teams, giving intermodal customers access to a level of shipment intelligence not available through any other railroad.
Together, we're helping customers move freight across our network more safely and securely.

Always a great time connecting with communities about rail safety!
Last night, members of our BNSF Police team connected with families and neighbors across North Texas during National Night Out.🚔🚂
Assistant Chief Bryan Laurie and Special Agent in Charge Chris Cook enjoyed talking with families, answering questions and sharing simple rail safety reminders that help keep our communities safe.
Thanks to all who stopped by to say hello and to those who helped make this event happen!

Congratulations on your retirement. I am so grateful for the support you have given over the years — the professionalism, the partnership, and the steady leadership that made a real difference. Wishing you every blessing in this next chapter. You’ve earned it. God bless you and your family. Thank you for your impeccable service to our country — as a grateful nation, we salute you and say thank you.

Every three hours, a person or vehicle is hit by a train in the United States.
Rail safety is everyone's responsibility. A simple decision to wait, stay alert and follow crossing signals can help prevent a tragedy.

Twenty-five years later, we join our country to pause and remember the fallen, the heroism of our first responders, military and communities, and reflect on the enduring spirit of our grateful nation.
We will never forget.

At BNSF, we remember and honor those we lost, their families, and the heroes who responded on this day 25 years ago.

September has arrived, which means the "ber" months are officially here. 🍁 While autumn colors begin to appear in some parts of the country, BNSF is gearing up for one of our busiest times of the year, helping move the harvest from farms to markets and tables around the world.
At the same time, we’re getting our people, locomotives and infrastructure ready for the winter weather just around the bend. Here’s to a safe and productive season ahead!

What would America be without trains? Patriotism and railroading were on full display last weekend at the America250 Locomotive Celebration, with two BNSF commemorative locomotives at center stage.
The event at the North Carolina Railroad Museum in Spencer, North Carolina, gathered locomotives from Class I, short line, and passenger railroads, all specially painted to celebrate America’s semiquincentennial.
Freedom 1776 and Santa Fe 5704 stole the show, helping to create an unforgettable moment for the more than 8,000 people present.
In the third photo, rail enthusiasts take pictures of our America250 locomotive while it’s parked on an auxiliary track outside of the roundhouse.
As I formally transition over BNSF, please join me in welcoming Interim Police Chief Kenneth Myers. Chief Myers will temporarily serve the @WSPDTX and @WESTCOMMTX department through January 2027 while a permanent search for the next police chief is being conducted by an executive search firm and our Human Resources department.
"Please join us in welcoming Ken into this new role to assist our police department during this transition," said City Manager Jeffrey J. James. "We are conducting an executive search with the desire to name a permanent chief by the end of the year for a start date in January 2027."
Myers retired in August 2025 after 25 years with the Allen Police Department. He also served as an interim police chief with the City of Prosper which concluded recently.
Myers holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in criminal justice and criminology from the University of Texas at Arlington. He has extensive training and certifications. He looks forward to meeting community members while serving in this temporary role.
Thank you to everyone who came out to support my family and I during the retirement ceremony on Friday. I am excited to onboard in my new role with the BNSF Railway Police Department as the Special Agent in Charge over Special Investigations and Training.
We are blessed to have led under such a supportive City Council, City Manager, department, community, and partner agencies.
Thank you to Capt. Beau Hufstetler and the leadership team at NAS JRB Fort Worth for the invitation to attend Quarters today. I am grateful for the partnership and teamwork between the base, U.S. Navy Police, NCIS, and our police team. It was especially meaningful to have the U.S. Navy Police Team sharing the stage as they do incredible work protecting our military base and its personnel. Shout out to SECO ENS Director Christina Hurley, Deputy Security Director Jose "Al" Pacheco, and NCIS SSA Craig Shattuck along with Public Affairs Officer Sandy Owens for the amazing partnership and collaboration over the years.
As I transition to my new role as Special Agent in Charge with the BNSF Railway Police Department, I was honored to receive this plaque and letter of appreciation. It was inspiring to watch this leadership team take care of their people while recognizing outstanding Sailors and civilians for their dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence.
This plaque will proudly hang in my new SAC office at BNSF Police.
