On this weeks 300 Level Episode for Tier 3 and 4s, we look at one player from every playoff team I think the #Mariners should pursue this winter. patreon.com/controlthezone/p…
The 2026 Seattle Mariners are dead. Thank goodness. Let's talk about it. patreon.com/controlthezone/p…
A player we’ll likely discuss multiple times or the #Mariners
As Royce Lewis continues his inconsistent career, the Twins must determine if their former No. 1 overall pick has a future with the club.
Our @gsimbeck has more on how much time Lewis has in Minnesota:

The off-season buzz is already here, and man do the #Mariners deserve it. But with two articles today about the possibility of trading Logan Gilbert, would Seattle do it? And what would they need to get? We discuss it here patreon.com/controlthezone/p…
As far as I'm concerned, this off-season has already started, and it will be a long one. So, instead of a postgame show, we're doing our weekly 300 Level Episodes! #Mariners patreon.com/controlthezone/p…
Julio, Cal, Naylor are de facto untouchable. NTC. Anderson almost certainly is. I’d be shocked if they traded Woo, very surprised if they traded Bryce or Logan. I think that’s it on the current 28 man

Is there really anyone untouchable on the current roster? Is Munoz someone they should at least consider trading?
Not a question haha but also, the Mariners have already been scrapping the bottom of the barrel for free agents the last 5 years hahaha. So, that part of it doesn’t impact the window much lol.

Now that the Rams owner has bought the Angels. The Mariners will be scrapping the bottom of the barrel in free agency for years to come. The "5 year window" is officially closed after this season
If it’s Jerry and Justin, I’d expect them to maybe make one decent size addition and then tell us the young guys are ready and they expect Cal, Josh, Julio to bounce back so those count as additions too.

Does this team try to make a big splash (e.g., Elly), or basically stick with the core they have and do smaller moves?
I don’t think any of them should be. Clean slate. The infield defense has been bad. Pitching has been bad. How much if that is their fault? Probably not much. But it’s an off-season of accountability so wipe the slate clean

Coaching staff has guys like Acta, Hill and Woodworth who survived the last managerial firing. You think any of them are here in 2027?
I think it likely he starts next year at Tacoma. They’ve been adamant he can catch, so I think I there’s a chance we see him middle of 27 as the backup C who also gets a lot of time in LF/RF. But if the bat doesn’t skip a beat, he might be an everyday OF who catches occasionally
Replying to @controlthezone @LO_Mariners
When can we see Boston Smith? The dude is raking in Arkansas. Also, where do you see him playing?
Assuming no major front office changes, I suspect the off-season will look like most all the others: make a couple of moves we like, leave massive holes they hope a young player or the deadline can fix
Replying to @controlthezone
Since this is the first year that they weren't close to the playoffs since the contention window opened do you think/expect that will make the front office more aggressive this offseason?
Gilbert, Woo, Miller, Anderson, Hancock. Kirby could stick around if they trade Hancock, but it makes a lot more sense to trade Kirby.
We don’t know the budget, so picking a FA is tough. Assuming Randy is out, Seiya Suzuki makes the most sense. Following the “Jerry circles back” idea, they were heavily scouting Casey Schmitt before his injury, so I bet they check back in there

What right handed bat do you see them adding this off-season via trade or FA?
