Someone asked how I defined a software factory recently, and I think my definition is different from others. To me, a software factory is centralizing your system of agents into one place to build software. That means going from custom coding setups on everyone's machines to a single definition. In practice, it's one source of truth for agent automations, repository access, secret access, sandbox environments, model selections... every aspect of the stack. I think loops and automations are a secondary aspect of this that gets unlocked once you unify everything into an "always-on" agent system. But the heart of it is having the whole team agree on the agent setup, the same way we agree on CI, lint rules, and all the automations we had pre-AI. This also makes it clear what an engineer's job is now: to make the agents better at building software. Not to be prompt monkeys! We like to call it "factory engineering"

One of our most requested updates! The team has been working on it for a while, much nicer experience when you hit your limit mid-task πŸ‘
Claude Code will now try to find a graceful stopping point when you hit your 5-hour limit mid-task, instead of cutting off mid-edit. It gets a small, fixed allowance pulled from your weekly limit to wrap up what it can.

Why I'm not on the Omarchy train. Unhinged. In my two decades in tech, communities with problematic people at their center eventually implode. Put your eggs in another basket. jakelazaroff.com/words/dhh-i…

The people building AI earnestly believe that it could kill us all by the end of the decade. This is not a marketing stunt. If anything, many executives and senior researchers will couch their phrasing in the press to sound sensible - but I hear the same people express fear privately. No other human activity poses this level of danger.

Sometimes it's easier to show than tell. We're sure this update will help with that. πŸ‘€ GitHub CLI now has a repeatable --attach flag that uploads a local image or video. Reference it inline in an issue, pull request, or comment body. Available now to all users on GitHub across all plans. πŸŽ‰ github.blog/changelog/2026-0…

Why use Vite instead of create-react-app? - Faster builds - Faster hot reloads - Plugin ecosystem - Uses modern tooling like esbuild - Actively supported, so better ongoing support - Prepare for React Router 7 which will support modern React features like RSC via Vite
