Human biology matters. Scientists and AI need human data to understand health and disease.
Crownlands is open sourcing Gateway 4M, the largest single-cell tissue dataset ever released from living humans, to advance research on brain aging and neurodegeneration.
Wrote this in February as a half-serious toned but information theoretically sound outlook on why quantum computers are so good at breaking crypto. Coincidentally, big cos are now making me right. Recent work from Deepmind and NVIDIA only accelerates this

Today we are announcing Oratomic. Based in Pasadena, our goal is to build the world’s first fault-tolerant quantum computer using neutral atom qubits.
Last Fall, I came to fully appreciate the potential of neutral atoms combined with high-rate error correction. Soon after, I made the decision to leave Google and Berkeley to go all-in on what is now Oratomic.
My teammates are truly exceptional, and it’s an honor to work alongside them with a chance to make history.
If you are excited by this mission, please get in touch!

Today in @Nature, we published a breakthrough demonstration of verifiable quantum advantage using a measurement known as out-of-time-order correlator (OTOC), or Quantum Echoes. Performed on our Willow chip, it paves a path toward real-world applications → goo.gle/3Jqaqst

we just killed ad agencies btw...
you can now place your product directly into any video you want to create
just write a script, describe your actor, upload an image of your product, and BOOM you've got a viral ad

We raised $4.1M for this moment: introducing Structify Flows.
It's the first “vibe data engineering” platform that lets you do enterprise-grade data work in minutes:
With Structify, just describe what you want in plain English.
No code. No hiring. No backlogs.

we took the best model for generating videos of lifelike humans (Mirage) and we made the best app for creating AI videos on the planet
if anything is broken i’ll go fix it asap
go try mirage•app from @getcaptionsapp
it’s only up from here

We’re excited to launch Actively AI 🎉 We’re building AI that helps the most ambitious companies in the world generate more revenue and grow even faster. We call it GTM superintelligence.
More in 🧵
Most of this “hybrid athlete” stuff is just a morning strength and conditioning period for actual athletes.
The play here is to just invest in Google and hold, they’re the Lebron of quantum computing in terms of both talent and execution
Everything else is just noise. Markets here know very little
With the Willow hype, thought I’d surface a paper I wrote before joining the Quantum AI team on how to program quantum computers with cluster states.
Has good insight into the potential of quantum networks and distributed compute for those interested.

And for those who prefer published, you can find a refined version in ACM’s ICSE conference proceedings. We’re on the first 8 pages.
The preprint should be fine though

An honor to be named alongside talented, veteran researchers who are even better people.
Way more to show soon

10 years ago Kelly et al showed bigger rep code circuits do better. The dream was to do the same for a full quantum code.
This year we finally did it. arxiv.org/abs/2408.13687 has d=5 surface codes twice as good as d=3. And d=7 twice as good again, outliving the physical qubits.
