New paper by Josie Kirby reviews use of Coastal Change Management Areas for coastal adaption to climate change: authors.elsevier.com/sd/arti…. Conclusion: they very much under-used; not helped by inconsistent approaches to predicting future shorelines @UoP_CPRG @UoP_CMAR @MarineSciPlym

In the UK the number of cases rose rapidly.
But the public – and authorities – are only learning this now because these cases were only published now as a backlog.
The reason was apparently that the database is managed in Excel and the number of columns had reached the maximum.

Lots of small #rockfalls along #Whitsands, south Cornwall. Probably not due to rainfall and/or high waves, but more likely due to the lack of rain and high temperatures, drying out the weathered rock and reducing internal cohesion. It's always something! @MarineSciPlym @pu_cprg
