I am thrilled to finally share these results with the world! We found that chimps and bonobos likely remember familiar conspecifics whom they haven't seen in years -- possibly as long as 26 years. It's the longest memory ever recorded in nonhuman animals. nytimes.com/2023/12/18/scien…
