One more week to apply for the postdoc position @CambPsych and join my lab on a joint project with Emily Holmes and @rikhens - togetehr we will drill down and discover some secrets of emotional memory jobs.cam.ac.uk/job/41792/
New preprint, comments welcome! "Adaptive coding of pain prediction error in the anterior insula" biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

Anyone else hit by UKRI move to the new Funding Service? I had an @esrc grant on je-s ready to submit but this week discovered that je-s is gone & the new responsive mode grants format/requirements entirely different. Gutting. @CambPsych @DenesSzucs

The new 250 word limit fits ~15 refs. Does the lit review counts for less now? @TrikBek @PattiAdank @jonroiser
I am looking for a postdoc to join my Emotional Cognition lab @CambPsych to support a 3-year ESRC project on emotional memory- please share! @Cambridge_Uni jobs.cam.ac.uk/job/41227/
Graduates with a PhD in cog neuro/experimental psych (or near completion) who are interested in this area are welcome to the PDRA post in my lab with @rikhens & Emily Holmes, located @CambPsych by following this link: jobs.ac.uk/job/DAG339/resear…
Fellow and DoS Dr Deborah Talmi received a #research grant from @ESRC for a project on the dual-representation account of #PTSD, in collaboration with Prof Rik Henson, @mrccbu, and Prof Emily Holmes, @UU_University. Read more at lucy.cam.ac.uk/news/fellow-r…

Can neural correlates of encoding explain the context dependence of reward-enhanced memory? New pre-registered study together with @supergrrl007 and @TrikBek doi.org/10.1111/psyp.14322 #OpenScience @CambPsych 🧵
Looking forward to speaking about this work tomorrow morning @LEARNMEM #LEARNMEM2023 !
Thread!
Hey people!
Is science working?
Can theories still guide experiments?
And today “Can neural correlates of encoding explain the context dependence of reward-enhanced memory?”

I don’t usually post personal news but Clinicians have told us to pull every lever.
Our daughter has with #dipg Brain cancer. There is no cure and typically 9m life expectancy.
If anyone knows of trials then please get in contact! #braincancer #childrenscancer @CR_UK
Our new preprint shows that pain reports in a deceptive cued pain task are best described with Bayesian Reinforcement Learning models.
🎺⚠️ New preprint ⚠️🎷🎺

As a neighbour and Cambridge colleague I wonder what is being done @CambPsych in relation to these terrible news.
Next year our Unit @mrccbu in Cambridge will be 80 years old (mrc-cbu.cam.ac.uk/history/). Sadly, the UK MRC has decided to now close all its units and our funding ends in 2027 so it’s the end of an era for the CBU as we know it. 1/n
