Unpopular opinion: The people who work for you aren't 'yours'. And they don't owe you anything.

I hate the term 'soft skills.' I never use it. The skills that matter most aren't soft. They're as hard as concrete. And they separate the 0.1% from the rest.

Talk is cheap. Nothing says: 'We appreciate you,' like cold, hard cash.

Cracking post @SophyRidgeSky
In journalism it's important to reflect both sides of an argument, to listen, to try and understand nuance and different perspectives, to be aware of your own bias.  But sometimes it's also important to state facts, and to call out facts that are not true

Thank you @Caroline_Alice_ (so slow i know - I've been taking a Twitter break).
Nearly finished @chrishirst ‘No Bullsh*t Leadership’. This really stood out for me… “Reframe your team’s behaviour and therefore culture - so that their fear is based, not on whether their decisions are right or wrong, but rather on the far greater implications of not making decisions at all”. Based on US Secretary of State Colin Powell, Horst suggests “there is only one clearly wrong decision when it comes to making a decision – not making a decision at all”.
