3 in 5 Australians can't recognise non-consensual acts in films and TV shows. And when lack of #consent is normalised on screen, it's normalised in life. It's time to pledge your support for the new 'lack of consent' classification.

This year the #socialenterprise sector saw itself named for the first time in the federal budget, with the $11.6 million Social Enterprise Development Initiative 🩵
It has two parts:
- Capability-building grants
- Online education and mentoring
Social Enterprise Australia has been engaged by the Department of Social Services to gather stakeholder views on these two parts. For each, we'll host workshops and a survey to test and hear levels of support to inform the Department's design.

Our CEO, Jess Moore, recently did an interview (@abcnews) and explored social enterprises as businesses purposed for societal betterment. They innovate by creating employment opportunities for individuals often excluded from the workforce. The conversation also touched on how outcome payments can unlock sector growth.

Hello Canberra!
We’re hopeful to hear the @AustGovernment say it will invest to break cycles of disadvantage. We can’t wait to deep dive into the $100M outcome fund to establish a partnership between governments and social enterprises to help do this.

Social enterprises reinvest in helping the community - such as by creating jobs for marginalised people. They're 1% of our economy. Chuffed to address today's parliamentary social enterprise event, alongside the remarkable @Bec_Scott.
