It's Not Just About Speed, It's About the Flow
Catalysts help speed up chemical reactions, but what happens when electricity can't reach all their active sites? Parts of the catalyst may be left unable to do their job. Prof. Taek Dong Chung and his team developed a new technique to measure both how well a catalyst works and how easily electricity flows through it, all while it's running. The findings could help scientists design better catalysts for clean energy technologies.

For decades, SNU has been recognized as a world-class institution known for solving complex problems. The Grand Quest Initiative marks a new chapter: SNU now steps forward as an agenda setter—proactively posing the hard questions that academia has yet to confront.
A Grand Quest is not a research topic. It's a question that disrupts entrenched assumptions, confronts the limits of existing knowledge, and embraces the risk of failure in pursuit of something genuinely new.
