Great Interview With Sylvia Fogel “My focus as both a parent and a clinician is primarily on whether research has translated into meaningful improvements in day-to-day functioning, or into prevention or medical treatments,”

The first meeting of the newly appointed IACC, originally scheduled for March 19, has been postponed. Some members of the autism community have expressed concern. Please know that we are actively working to reschedule the meeting and will share the new date as soon as possible. I recognize the urgency of the issues facing the autism community, and I understand this delay may feel discouraging. IACC members will come to the meeting with a strong sense of purpose and determination. Together we bring clinical expertise, research experience, advocacy perspectives, and lived experience, and we are committed to carrying out the statutory responsibilities entrusted to the committee by Congress through the Autism CARES Act. We look forward to beginning this work together and advancing the priorities that matter most to the autism community. Please feel free to share this post so others in the autism community are aware. Further information will be shared through official HHS channels as it becomes available.

“In 2021, a review of 12 studies found that listening to Mozart’s Sonata for Two Pianos in D major (K.448) reduced abnormal brain activity linked to seizures in 84% of people with epilepsy” I read a ton of science and never heard if this specific seizure reduction!
Did you know there’s a sound the brain responds to more positively than almost anything else? This timeless practice carries remarkable benefits for the mind. And once you start listening consistently, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without the calm and clarity it brings 👇

Absolutely this should not be a political issue! 🙌
Grateful to @harvardcrimeson for their thoughtful coverage of my appointment as IACC Chair. This moment is about refocusing federal autism policy on unmet needs, scientific rigor, and real-world outcomes for autistic people and their families. thecrimson.com/article/2026/…

When the next IACC meeting is scheduled and announced, I call on parents to submit public comment. Physicians, researchers, journalists and the public at large need to hear your stories. As a parents, I know you you might be exhausted and profoundly disappointed with the medical system. But please--consider a public comment. Your experiences matter and need to be heard. iacc.hhs.gov/meetings/public…

🙌 So looking forward to the progress I know this committee will bring!
I am honored to serve as the new Chair of the Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee. Our members bring extraordinary experience and leadership—founding advocacy organizations, advancing legislation, championing inclusion, fighting for special education access, providing medical care, and training the next generation of autism providers. This term also marks a milestone: for the first time since the IACC’s creation in 2000, the committee includes two non-speaking adults with autism who type to communicate. Because so many of our members have deep lived experience with autism, we bring both passion and urgency to the work ahead—focused on improving prevention, care, and outcomes while maintaining public trust and scientific integrity. As Chair, I am committed to active outreach and broad public input through open meetings, listening sessions, and stakeholder engagement—including from those who have leveled early, callous criticisms that diminish the enormous achievements of our members. Our affected children and adults deserve apolitical, cooperative engagement to advance progress. hhs.gov/press-room/hhs-kenne…

Human to human connection. Shared joy. There can be enormous beauty in providing the intense supports that many non-speaking & unreliably speaking autistic individuals need. This is a great example.
A Louisiana student with autism who loves @taylorswift13 had a great first day of school thanks to a teacher who went above and beyond to calm his nerves. ❤️

🎤🙌 To me the “pro this/anti that” rhetoric is completely irrelevant. What’s been done to people that watched, felt all the effects and trauma of adverse events, anguished injury and looking for answers is astounding. Town square maligning, shaming&society accepted discrimination
AARON SIRI: “What group can you talk about in America the way they talk about people who don't vaccinate? … Any minority, any religious, any ethnic group … ‘Don't treat them. Let them die. They deserve it.’ Who can you talk about like that?”

No one should be denied an education or medical care. But that’s exactly what happens w/ mandatory for all no matter risk profile.Even if a child develops seizure disorder after vaccination exemptions are shunned, child/family shunned. Discrimination is inflamed by 1size fits all
Yes @RetsefL. Access to education is foundational for long-term health & economic stability. Conditioning school attendance on Hep B vaccine compliance is unjust & risks deepening inequity. It does nothing to protect health in the school setting.

Cheryl I could hug you for saying what so many of us have also wondered. Our observations & children’s reactions should be part of the scientific process not the butt end of shaming, patronizing & isolation. We don’t tell our stories to scare others but for investigation &treatment
Cheryl Hines on Her Appearance on The View “I'm confused by people attacking the parents who say, my child is different since they received the vaccine … My child was hitting milestones. Then they got the vaccine, and everything changed. Why are we yelling at those parents?”

Parents of children w/ moderate to profound autism face daily stressors unimaginable to most—aggression, self-injury (biting, head-banging), severe dysregulation, & dependence for basic tasks like toileting & dressing. Even leaving the house can feel herculean; a simple grocery trip can be impossible, leaving many families isolated & w/o support. Research suggests that autism mother’s have measurable physiological changes related to this chronic stress. pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/article…

I shook Obama’s hand during his 1st campaign & asked if I could give him my notebook w/my son’s medical GI microbe& urine results. His aide took it.After election I asked his aide if we could present on mito dysfunction/autism &I was immediately cut off from communicating further
Now he is an expert on autism, yet didn't address it one time in 8 years. Pathetic snake.

I’ll let my son’s two SPELL session on this answer.
I want to hear from parents who have children that are profoundly autistic. Do you think autism is something to be celebrated? Do you think there is no need for them to be “cured?” Graphics like this love to pop up to discourage inquiry into the cause of autism, so I want to hear from you. Feel free to message me privately if you want your comment to remain anonymous.

Here’s my 2009 post which was years after we knew about it snd stopped using tylenol. Acetaminophen has been given animals in studies to induce liver damage and for reduced glutathione models. pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/article…).
So many people on X are asking angrily how long have we known about Tylenol and autism. I did a search of my own Facebook history and I have a post going back to 2009 about the Tylenol problem. Kim Mack Rosenberg tells me that when she took her son to one of his first autism doctors in 2004 when he told her no more Tylenol. Here is @AmerAcadPeds yesterday still lying to defend their decades long malpractice.

Ha! I was just going to post this to your facebook. My thoughts exactly. Admitting it’s autoimmune and actually saying MTHFR in an interview is mindblowingly different than what they’ve always asserted is a “genetic” diagnosis. Not sure people will see the forest through the trees
Scott Gottlieb steps into the 21st century understanding of autism. They have never wanted to admit that autism is autoimmune because that would be evidence that it is caused by this disruption in the immune system caused by vaccines. He knows the jig is up and he is slowly backing into a position that is congruent with most autism being a vaccine injury.
