It is happening, though. And unfortunately not just young Black men. Firmly grown and middle aged ones, too. It’s the same type of dissonance that makes white women cling to whiteness over womanhood. When the rubber meets the road, people lean to their perceived advantages.

And this unceremonious reversal goes unexplained. It would be more intellectually honest for Roberts and Kavanaugh to explain their switch up from Milligan, but such is not the way of the shadow docket. This is an act of power (“b/c we can”), not of law (“b/c we must”).

Jared Polis, the Democratic Governor of Colorado, is everything wrong with the Democratic Party. Caving to Trump to free Tina Peters, an anti-America thug, whose hatred for our country led her to try (and fail) to overturn an election, is a level of weakness that we need to root out of our party. I have no remorse for imprisoning enemies of America because the message to these animals needs to be crystal clear: you try to overthrow our country, your grandchildren will see you in jumpsuits eating meatloaf Monday behind bars. We must have more respect for our nation than surrendering our values because a nut job sheds some tears and says she “made a mistake.” How pathetic. I’m glad this chump’s term ends in November. Get lost.

so you can only bring a case now if the person drawing the map basically goes “i am a racist and i am drawing this map for racist purposes to dilute the black vote in direct defiance of the 2026 supreme court decision titled louisiana v callais” on a hot mic
Replying to @baseballot
The decision does not throw out the Voting Rights Act entirely, but it appears to raise the bar for enforcing it. You now need to prove that the map *intentionally* prevents minorities from electing their preferred candidates.

Don’t sell this is as a win when it is not, that shit is insulting to our intelligence. Saying we can no longer allow people to suffer from this admin would have been a better message than playing in our face about a meaningless vote that will fail. FOH!

Difficult to describe how dark this period in American politics must be for even Rand Paul, who singlehandedly blocked federal anti-lynching legislation for years, to have to get on this app and incredulously ask the Vice President whether he ever read To Kill a Mockingbird.
JD “I don’t give a shit” Vance says killing people he accuses of a crime is the “highest and best use of the military.”
Did he ever read To Kill a Mockingbird?
Did he ever wonder what might happen if the accused were immediately executed without trial or representation??
What a despicable and thoughtless sentiment it is to glorify killing someone without a trial.
