Our Secretary of Defense is spending his time disrespecting our troops and our veterans to distract from the fact that this administration is a failure. Let’s be clear. Diversity makes our troops stronger, not weaker. Pete Hegseth has to go.
Hegseth: "The ideological clowns are out. The patriotic cowboys are in, with testosterone testing on top."

A disgrace.
Hegseth removed Chappie James's portrait from the Air Force Art Gallery and left the wall empty. James flew 179 combat missions across two wars. First Black four-star general in US military history. Curry passed that portrait every day for a decade. When it came down, he retired. The wall is still empty.

"This Sunday night’s UFC spectacle on the South Lawn...captures something about this moment in our history. It's vulgar, violent, commercial, grandiose, tacky, and it dishonors a place once thought worthy of care and respect. In other words, it’s Donald Trump." open.substack.com/pub/thebul…

Hitler killed himself and Germany surrendered. Japan got nuked. Do they teach history in Ohio?
JD Vance: If you go back to WW2 or every major conflict in human history, they all ended with some kind of negotiation.

World War II ended with unconditional surrenders by Germany on May 8, 1945, and Japan on September 2, 1945, rather than negotiation. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unconditi… archives.gov/milestone-docu… nationalww2museum.org/war/topics/end…

The president is playing checkers, not chess. He thought this was going to be Venezuela. Iran is not Venezuela. If we come out of this with a strategically stronger Iran, one that knows it can close the Strait at any time and cripple the world economy, it's a geopolitical failure of enormous proportions.

Love how Trump keeps threatening Powell and he just keeps telling the truth about the administration’s dismal record.

Donald Trump tried to deport an innocent Tufts student to fill Stephen Miller’s inhumane quota. Now, he’s fired the judge who rightfully stopped him. This is the stuff of dictators.

Trump has diminished U.S. credibility, alienated our allies, threatened war crimes and the elimination of an entire civilization, and destabilized the U.S. and global economies. He must be held accountable. Our statement:

Our nation is at a moral crossroads. Trump asked Congress for over 1 trillion to fund the Department of Defense and his war of choice. To get it, MAGA Republicans want to defund childcare. Healthcare. Education. I won't stand for that.

BREAKING: In a stunning moment, Fox News just admitted that Donald Trump's ceasefire made clear that he accomplished none of his objectives in Iran. Woah.

The reason they need lawyers is so ICE won’t decide on their own who’s “illegal.”

The ceasefire was a complete fiction. While the White House announced one, missiles were still flying across Israel, Iran, and Lebanon. Reality doesn’t match the headline. The White House was forced to backtrack today because the proposed “10-point deal” from Iran was a disaster that would let them enrich uranium, fund proxies like Hezbollah, maintain leverage over the Strait of Hormuz, and get sanctions relief. Even top allies like Mark Levin and Larry Kudlow are calling it a disaster. Let’s be honest about how we got here: there was never an imminent threat to the U.S. Now we’re stuck in it, negotiating from a weakened position.

Tapper: The statement from Iran's supreme national security council did not fit the messaging that the Trump administration wanted to project. And instead of calling out the Iranian regime, President Trump attacked CNN by falsely claiming we made it up. We didn't make it up.

This is a lie. About 50% of the files have been released and per our subpoena it’s illegal to withhold them. Blanche may think it’s over, but we are just getting started.
Blanche: The DOJ has now released all the files with respect to the Epstein saga. To the extent the Epstein files was a part of the past year of this justice department, it should not be a part of anything going forward.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The DOJ has not released all Epstein files; it identified more than 6 million potentially responsive pages but released nearly 3.5 million. justice.gov/opa/media/1426… justice.gov/opa/pr/departm…

President Trump treats America like his personal empire—waging unnecessary wars, enriching allies and himself, ignoring Congress, and leaving civilians and global stability in ruins, says Cato’s @Doug_Bandow. This is not what the Founders envisioned. ow.ly/3jyz50YClmN

Pete Hegseth is recklessly firing some of our most dedicated military leaders. These are folks with hundreds of years of combined experience, being pushed out with no notice. Hegseth’s political purges are endangering our national security.
