“Philanthropy is a way of renewing the world. It’s how we improve on what we find during our life’s short span, leaving something for the next generation to make even better. It should be stimulating. A pleasure. An adventure.”

With carnyx, war paint (courtesy of Castell Henllys) & our brilliant @RCAHMWales Pendinas Community Archaeologist Beca Davies at the #FestivalOfArchaeology yesterday. A really excellent day 🎉
This is what happens at the #FestivalOfArchaeology when @poblliwallun dares you. Great day at the Pendinas community festival today in Aberystwyth. Huge well done to Beca, Nicola, Bethan, @Toby_Driver1 and other @RCAHMWales colleagues who have delivered an exemplary project 👏
After a full day of @RCAHMWales meetings yesterday, it was a joy to represent the Commission today at the Pendinas community festival of archaeology. Huge thanks to @HeritageFundCYM & @BenMLake for their enthusiasm & support for the collaborative project between Heneb & the RC.
The Pendinas Hillfort festival is off to a flying start, officially opened by @BenMLake with the unveiling of the incredible new #hillfort mural by Megan Elinor on the wall of Ysgol Llwyn yr Eos school in Penparcau 🎉
Here we are, the Class of ’24, graduating yesterday in the beautiful Canterbury Cathedral with our MA in Philanthropic Studies from @UniKent ✨ Proud of these awesome people with whom I’ve laughed and learned, and upon whom I’ve depended so much over the past couple of years.
“Funding IS needed to make cultural buildings ready for climate change”. It’s why part of the announced £3.7m @WelshGovernment funding for @AmgueddfaCymru & @NLWales is so very much needed.
Rainfall in Bristol in 1890: 677mm. In '23: 1247mm. On Fri a meeting room + studio in @wshed flooded. Our shed was always leaky but so much rain is falling on our OLDE WORLDE gutters we dont stand a chance. Funding is needed to make cultural buildings ready for climate change.

Love this map, it captures the absolute essence of the Pendinas project. Really looking forward to the Pendinas Hillfort Festival of Archaeology in Penparcau on 27 July and the celebration of everything this @HeritageFundCYM funded project has achieved. Join us if you can!
