In advance of the AGM, a site visit to North China’s Shanxi Province will be organized exclusively for CCICED Members and Special Advisors, offering a valuable opportunity to gain deeper insights into China's sustainable development practices on the ground.
The CCICED Secretariat is pleased to announce that the CCICED 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM) was a carbon neutral event. 179.09tCO₂e equivalent was produced — which has been offset by the purchase of an equivalent amount of carbon credits.
A special policy report on advancing high-quality development through a circular economy with smart digitalization was unveiled at the CCICED 2026 Annual General Meeting, highlighting digitalization’s role in high-quality development.
During the Policy Dialogue of the CCICED 2026 Annual General Meeting, Li Gao, CCICED’s Secretary-General, called on the high-level advisory body to the Chinese government to produce policy recommendations that directly support the implementation of China's 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–30), while also tackling major global environmental and climate challenges.

The open forums of the CCICED 2026 Annual General Meeting were held on Sept 28 in Beijing. Experts and scholars from home and abroad engaged in discussions on hot topics, exploring global green development pathways.

During the CCICED 2026 Annual General Meeting, China reaffirmed its commitment to a high-quality green transition and multilateral cooperation.
With the enactment of the Ecological and Environmental Code, which for the first time enshrines climate change response into national law, China's climate governance system has achieved a historic leap forwards.
International experts made remarks at an open forum, themed on Empower the High-Quality Development of Wind and Solar Power, Accelerate Regional Green and Just Transition, at the CCICED 2026 Annual General Meeting.
They called for stronger China-Europe cooperation on the green transition based on their complementary experiences, urging the two sides to move from sharing experiences in renewable energy development to testing practical solutions together.

#CCICED2026AGM The CCICED 2026 Annual General Meeting held its open forums on Sept 28. Huang Runqiu, Minister of Ecology and Environment and CCICED’s Chinese Executive Vice-Chairperson, addressed the forums and met Kristin Halvorsen, CCICED’s Vice Chairperson.
Both pledged deeper China-Norway cooperation on climate change, biodiversity, plastic pollution, and on sustainable development. The meeting underscored their mutual commitment to global environmental governance.
On Sept 25-26, representatives from CCICED headed out on a field visit to Linfen, Shanxi province, as the preparatory activity for the CCICED 2026 Annual General Meeting.
