💥Podcast agencies demand massive ad tech, and they all want something different. It clutters up your feeds, and if one goes down or breaks, there goes publishing your podcast episode. Not to mention how highly invasive it can be. We offer two at TWiT and lost $500K this year because we refused to add more ad tech.
💥Podcasting platforms continuously change download counts to only benefit advertisers. Keep reading. 👇🏻
💥And then there is the @iab, which only cares about the advertisers - forget publishers. They include more reasons to discount downloads. Remember, advertising is in their name because they only protect brands.
Everyone has genuinely forgotten why podcast advertising works - it works because of the fans. We have been holding the line for so long that we have lost 40% of our team in two years. This is unsustainable. We are losing our network to ad tech.
