JUST IN: Cardano is now part of the official x402 SDK.
Any app or AI agent can pay for an API call in $ADA or any CNT over a web request. No account, no API key, no checkout page.
Every service already on x402 can switch Cardano on.
The agent economy just got a Cardano rail.
We published the v2.25.0 x402 npm packages this past week. One improvement that went under the radar is that the @x402/svm package can now run in the browser and edge environments!
It used to work on the frontend, however I was doing some testing and found that, at some point, a node:crypto dependency snuck it's way into the package, preventing the code in many environments
The CDP Facilitator is now much faster for Solana exact payments 🚀
Solana builders should see 4x lower /verify latency and 60% faster /settle latency, live now.

→ @Must_be_Ash gave a demo on booking travel with Claude connected to Base and Travala’s MCP.

the average vibecoding experience changes when you give an agent a wallet with x402
- sonnet/opus doesn’t generate images? just pay an image generation provider per request (it would cost ~$0.05)
- need transcription for audio ? ask the agent to find a service on the x402 marketplace
- want to feed an article about FHE to your agent, but cloudflare blocks access? use a firecrawl x402 endpoint

Update: I’ve left Coinbase. I’m starting a company.
I’ll continue to be involved with x402 as a member of the Technical Steering Committee with the foundation, and as an advisor to Coinbase on agentic commerce.
I’m incredibly proud of the work we’ve done in @CoinbaseDev. It's truly an elite team executing at the highest of levels. Many exciting things coming soon 👀. @yugacohler will be taking the helm as Head of Engineering, he’s a rockstar, he’ll crush it.
It's been an exceptional second tour of duty at Coinbase. It was a hard decision to leave, but there's an idea in my head I need to get into the world.
Big thank you to @barmstrong, @emiliemc and @nemild for bringing me back, and to @alecglovett, @yuga @brian__foster and everyone else in CDP - it's been an honour.
