The crypto x ai bears are missing the whole point. The bull case for x402: - digital goods (i.e., data) and services (i.e., SaaS) are often gated behind paywalls or at least a sign up - this adds friction to an agent using these as it goes after a goal - x402 makes everything permissionless and agent-discoverable. agents only need to buy what they’re using. - as agents start to easily discover x402 services, SaaS providers will be incentivized to add their services behind payment gateways to tap into agent distribution - this becomes a massive flywheel — a true permissionless network of everything in the digital world (and eventually will tap into meat space with robotics and meat proxies) - if we do this right it can create an autopilot agent economy that gives us more abundance than we could even imagine Permissionless commercialization + micropayments need crypto.
