Russian forces are reportedly using the YakB-12.7 rotary machine gun as a means of engaging aerial targets.
The YakB-12.7 (9-A-624) is a four-barrel aircraft machine gun with a rotating barrel assembly. It was originally developed for the GUV-8700 helicopter gun pod used on the Mi-24. The weapon has a reported rate of fire of 4,000–4,500 rounds per minute, a muzzle velocity of 810 m/s (2,657 ft/s), and an effective range of approximately 1.5 km (0.9 miles).
The CNS “Bars-Sarmat” has reportedly developed an anti-aircraft turret mounting the YakB-12.7 on a military truck. According to the developers, the system uses multi-round ammunition intended to provide a high density of fire against aerial targets.

Northwestern engineers built a drone that spins its own body 25 times a second to disappear mid-flight.
It's called Phantom Twist.
No paint. No clear plastic shell. No camouflage.
Most of the frame rotates. 25 turns per second. 1,500 per minute. A full turn every 40 milliseconds.
The propeller spins the other way.
That's the trick. The counter-rotation cancels the spin, and the aircraft holds steady while its body turns into a smear.
The eye tracks a bird. It tracks a normal quadcopter.
It can't lock onto a shape that redraws itself 25 times a second.
You see motion. You see blur. You never see the outline.
Every camouflage in history tried to match the background.
This one just refuses to hold still.

F-35 stealth parts, including a classified radar-absorbing canopy, were rerouted from Australia to Hong Kong this summer. The Pentagon says some components are missing.
Politico reports the shipment was traveling from Australia to the US for repair when an intermediary handling logistics for Lockheed Martin diverted it across the Pacific to Hong Kong instead. Nobody has publicly explained why. Nobody knows who currently has the parts.
The canopy matters specifically. It's coated with a classified radar-absorbent material that makes the F-35 invisible to radar. That coating is available only to the US and its partners. A physical canopy lets an adversary study and potentially reverse-engineer the material, something stolen digital blueprints alone can't fully replicate.
Congress has been receiving briefings since June. The Pentagon confirmed the incident and said it's working to retrieve the parts and add safeguards. Lockheed said it follows all regulations but won't discuss specific shipments. The Chinese Embassy said it wasn't familiar with the matter.
For context: a 2023 GAO report found over 1 million F-35 spare parts had gone missing over five years, and the Pentagon couldn't audit the losses because Lockheed holds the data.
