Depressive realism is widely believed and repeated in the popular and scientific press. Our inability to replicate it, however, has undermined my belief in the phenomenon. I'm proud to report our paper is in press at Collabra:Psychology @CollabraOA psyarxiv.com/xq24r/

Acute suicide risk is a multifactorial, transitory, sometimes quickly resolving state. It is not surprising that recent meta-analytic evidence suggests limited practical utility of complex ML algorithms that are based on many plausible but cross-sectionally assessed predictors
Replying to @KlonskyLab
I can’t help but feel at times that ML is the latest example of how we rearrange the deck chairs but do not actually change anything fundamental about how we approach suicide prevention.
