There is a war on beauty, because beauty connects us to God, to our history, and to each other.

I wish I could send a t3 code thread to my PMs t3code as question so it could create them an interactive html rendering and let them chat through it then when they choose the option they like it just tells my thread. But then I could also waste their tokens

I'm not sold on the idea that, in today's world, the death penalty is never admissible, though I agree that in very many cases life imprisonment can adequately protect society while preserving the possibility of repentance. But what about those for whom imprisonment itself is insufficient to prevent further harm? Consider those who continue to kill in prison, those who run criminal organizations even from solitary confinement, or those who can manipulate the very people entrusted with keeping them detained. How are we to deal with such cases? They may be rare, but pretending they don't exist is foolish. Is lifelong, complete solitary confinement sufficient? And if so, is that really more respectful of human dignity than the death penalty?

Even the 1994 Catechism would prohibit capital punishment in the USA, with the possible exception of those who committed serious crimes once already in prison for other serious crimes. Life in prison can protect society, so the 1999 CCC calls for it rather than execution.

I have a copy of the 1994 Catechism. Have been told Francis drastically changed it. Only change is it went from death penalty cases should be handed out and should be extremely rare to the new catechism saying no death penalty. Here is a pic of the 1994 copy I have

They're rediscovering Christian morality
A senior at Harvard observes “a narrative emerging among young people that more than just consent is required to make a sex act ethical.” “In the Cornell Daily Sun, a student says fraternities function as ‘a market, where women are seen as commodities.’” “A Dartmouth contributor lambasts frat culture where brothers ‘humiliate and degrade’ and that teaches ‘men to treat women and each other like subhuman objects.’” “The emerging picture is of a sexual ethic that cannot be satisfied simply by one liberal-autonomous agent assenting to the action of another. The new ethic requires upholding the dignity and respect of the human being involved. Respecting women is incompatible with drug-fueled orgies where the ‘shop’ is ‘open,’ regardless of how consensual said orgy may or may not be.”

Religion is an alignment technology. I unironically believe that there is a huge and urgent opportunity for divinity schools to invest in compute and forge research partnerships with their home institution's computer science departments.

And a fetus is what???
Oh bitch please—a fetus is only classified as a mother’s baby if she so wishes to keep it but scientifically it’s a fetus. And preventing a life from starting isn’t killing it. It’s not a human it’s a fetus a stage in development to a human

I can't go a day now without feeling like we are in need of a religious order whose charism is focused on sanctifying and evangelizing the tech world.
