It has been a dream for so long to see this beautiful bumble!
Seeing queens happily buzzing away in glorious machair, feasting on Kidney Vetch, with baskets full of pollen has filled my heart with so much joy 💛

Clinging onto bumblebee season by taking a trip to the North Pennines on the search for Broken-belted Bumblebees 🔎
Males at Low Force, Bowlees Quarry and on a verge full of Devil’s-bit Scabious, with lovely male Heath Bumblebees along the way too 🐝
A lovely male Broken-belted Bumblebee, spotted during @NENature_’s Field Skills trip near Allenheads yesterday.
Rocking his lion’s mane and peachy bottom 🦁🍑
Lovely to see Heath Bumblebee males out and about this evening, enjoying Devil’s-bit Scabious. Balls of fluff 💛💜

It’s always such a treat to find a bumblebee nest! 💛
There’s lots of tussocky grass to choose from at @cumbriawildlife’s Gosling Sike garden, but a Common Carder queen has decided to make her home in a raised bed (full of herbs! 🪴)
