09/08 - Tennis POTD ๐ŸŽพ ATP Montreal ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ (1U) Fils ML @ 2.10 / +110 (0.5U) Fils 2-1 @ 4.60 / +360 Hit ๐‹๐ˆ๐Š๐„ - If Youโ€™re ๐“๐€๐ˆ๐‹๐ˆ๐๐† ๐Ÿฉต Let me firstly say, you may see me tweeting stuff that give you the impression these bets are โ€œlocksโ€ and if that is the case I have a beach front property to sell you in Afghanistan - thatโ€™s purely for entertainment purposes but I still like Arthur Fils here. The concern I have with this matchup is how good Rafael Jodar is at absorbing pace and redirecting it, this is a big tool when facing a player like Arthur Fils who needs his first strike tennis to click to win. Jodar has been the definition of consistency recently and one way we could see this match is Jodar is just too consistent from the baseline compared to Fils moments of brilliance, which is why I understand if you are betting on Jodar but let me tell you why I am betting on Fils. People have seen how slow these courts in Montreal are and the automatically think this will favour the baseline consistency of Jodar but what your missing is these slower courts also help Fils game massively because it gives him the time he need to wind up on his forehand and when he gets the right shot off there is hardly anyone who can keep the rally going. After beating Cameron Norrie, Fils mentioned how he was happy with the way he got his forehand going and he also said he has learned to be more patient on these courts, which was evident against Mariano Navone. Now, letโ€™s talk about the Washington match - itโ€™s not what it seems because I watched the whole match and I can tell you now Fils was not playing at 100% and also you have to remember Jodar was a-lot more fresh in Washington compared to now. Knowing the type of mentality Arthur Fils has, I know he will want to get this revenge win and considering he is French, I assume he will have more of the crowd on his side given the influence of France in Canada, so I think at plus money its worth the risk.

Hugo Dellien looked very good today, he has recovered some form recently and most importantly he is comfortable on the surface and can extend rallies, most importantly he is not injured to give De Jong a free pass. If De Jong plays anything like he did yesterday Dellien will have a field day, making this a valuable spot in my opinion.

Bublik, at 2-4 in the tiebreak, to his box: F*ck this sh*t! Every other player benefits from the draw falling apart. Why not me? Why do I have to face World No. 4? Why couldn't [Fritz] f*cking flop against Vukic? (Bublik went on to win the tiebreak.)
