Excited to see our work published in @braincomms! We add to a growing body of literature studying how iEEG electrode type, spatial distribution, and white matter sampling affect epileptic networks. I'd like to thank the entire team and my mentor @BrianLitt2 for their support!
Bernabei et al. report that electrocorticography and stereo EEG provide different quantifications of epileptogenic zone connectivity due to differences in electrode type and implant patterns. 👉bit.ly/3ndxMmN @bernabei_john, @TCampbellArnold, @preya_a_shah, @AndyYRevell,

Fascinating talk by Brian Litt #AES2021 on big data and epilepsy, I particularly like the clinic of 2035 where a computer may predict somebody at high risk of seizure from EMR, genetics, etc. and refractory patients having ambulatory SEEG with dissolvable electrodes!

Incredibly excited about our new study in @ScienceTM combining chronically implanted devices, and years of neural recordings and stimulation to understand brain network dynamics in epilepsy. @CureEpilepsy @NeurosurgUCSF @UCSFepilepsy
Responsive neurostimulation (RNS) uses an implanted device to treat epilepsy, yet patients are rarely freed of all seizures. Our new study in @ScienceTM (with @ANKhambhati, Alia Shafi, and Vikram Rao @UCSFEpilepsy) reveals that brain network plasticity may explain why.

Let’s set the record straight. Women work together & publish exceptional papers in @NatureNeuro. The papers are undercited due to implicit bias/structural inequality/discrimination. The solution, @NatureComms, is to address the problem, not advise all grad students to work w/ men
