It finds that people of all backgrounds agree progress has stalled on racial equality and may even be going backwards. Nearly half of white respondents (48%) and ethnic minority respondents (44%) feel racial equality is getting worse rather than better.
'Burnham should scrap Labour’s red lines on Brexit and get closer to EU, voters say' - great write-up today from @_katedevlin @Independent of our new report 'Britain and Europe: How close should we get?'
independent.co.uk/news/uk/po…
Ahead of autumn's UK-EU summit, new @BritishFuture research finds that people see Brexit as a failure and want closer EU ties. But voters are undecided about what comes next, with uncertainty about the idea of another referendum, or a return to free movement [1/3]
The research finds public support for a youth mobility scheme, and a majority who want the Prime Minister to pursue a closer relationship with Europe than Labour’s ‘Red Lines’ allow.
The report also includes detailed sections on public attitudes to UK-EU cooperation on asylum and freedom of movement. It draws on a nationally representative survey of 3,007 UK adults and focus groups across England and Wales.

Published tomorrow (Weds) 'Britain and Europe: How close should we get?' a new @britishfuture report examining public attitudes to the future UK-EU relationship, incl on trade, free movement, asylum and youth mobility. Check britishfuture.org tomorrow for more details

@britishfuture @BMuslimTrust [1/4]
A clear majority of the British public (63%) recognise that there is prejudice against Muslims and six in ten (61%) support government action against anti-Muslim prejudice.
