When Ukraine destroys Russian data centers, hoards of aggressive right-wing bots disappear, and Twitter becomes much friendlier. Isn’t that interesting? So much of our politics is driven by the internet, and so much of the internet is driven by Russians who want to hurt us. Shouldn’t we do something about that, given that we know it?

Zelensky should get the Nobel Peace Prize, if for no other reason than silencing so many fucking trolls in one fell swoop. The level of peace that has already introduced on social media…holy shit.

Montgomery's bus boycott ran for 381 days. It needed cars, gas, insurance and drivers — and money that could not be traced to anyone who could be fired for giving it.
A cook solved that problem with pound cake. Georgia Gilmore. She had testified in court about being thrown off a bus, and lost her job for it. Dr. King helped her set up a kitchen in her own house.
Then she organized women across Montgomery into a fundraising operation she deliberately named the Club From Nowhere — so that when the money arrived at mass meetings, nobody could be identified, targeted, or sacked.
They sold sweet potato pies, fried fish and pound cake at beauty shops and on street corners, week after week, for over a year.
Her kitchen fed the movement and funded the carpools. King ate at her table. Kennedy ate at her table.
The boycott is remembered as speeches and lawsuits. It ran on pie money from women nobody was writing down.
Georgia Gilmore’s story is one of the many stories in black history that is never spoken about. Black history is not only about the famous names. It’s also about the people whose courage, sacrifice, and stories were nearly forgotten.

Heads up: We’re seeing a new scam targeting victims of domestic violence.
Scammers search court filings, then call victims of domestic violence and pretend to be law enforcement or court officials. They use details from the case to sound legitimate.
Then they ask for money, claiming they'll keep the victim safe by getting a court order or electronic monitoring for the abuser.
It’s a scam.
No law enforcement or court official will call you and demand money as part of a domestic violence case. Hang up and call law enforcement.
And if you’re a victim of abuse, here is a list of organizations across North Carolina that can actually help: doa.nc.gov/divisions/women-y…

A hill I’m willing to die on:
Elizabeth Warren is the most underappreciated senator in the country.
She’s one of the few who has never taken AIPAC PAC money, doesn’t trade individual stocks, and publicly posts her tax returns every year.
She’s just as progressive as Bernie Sanders.
She introduces far more bills than the typical senator and works both sides of the aisle to get them passed.

Today we’re announcing the largest environmental damage payment in North Carolina history.
Chemours and DuPont are responsible for massive PFAS contamination of our water, especially in eastern NC.
This settlement is worth nearly $600m, with most funds going directly to local communities.
It was crucial that we got real money for our state, because the EPA completely failed. It gave these companies a slap on the wrist without even consulting us.
We just got North Carolina at least 20x what the EPA got for us.
This new money is in addition to the $1.2b Chemours has been required to spend by the previous court order to clean up their mess, but now that cleanup effort must also be financially guaranteed by DuPont - a key win to ensure the cleanup work continues.
My thanks to @NCDEQ for their partnership and dedication to clean water for our state.
