For a decade, the best Nebraska could hope for against ranked opponents was to stick around in the game. Now they are starting to control these games. Can they take the next step to closing out a ranked team? They'll like have two more tries in 2026

Unless Dante Moore is back from his injury next week for Oregon, it's time for the long-awaited Brock Thomas revenge game against Nebraska

Matt Rhule following Nebraska's 20-17 loss to 7th-ranked Indiana:
"I'm really upset. Angry that we didn't win the game. But I'm not in any way embarassed by our guys. We just have to do a couple things better because that's the national champions."

Curt Cignetti on this 4th and 1 call: "Kansas made that one famous with the guy who's starting quarterback for Tampa (Jalon Daniels). That guy is a good coach. Stole that one about 5-6 years ago."

So. Much. Pain. It follows the exact script we know by heart. But for me this is not the hopeless feeling of USC 2025 or Iowa 2024 or Wisconsin 2023 or so many others. Not even close. 5-1 and another bite at the exact same apple next week that would erase this.

It’s so easy to say in hindsight, but the feeling in the building completely changed after the Indiana TD to make it 17-13. All the pressure immediately went back on Nebraska and the party atmosphere of five seconds earlier was completely gone.
No drive was ever the same.

You held Indiana to 1 of 10 on 3rd downs.
65 rushing yards on 22 attempts.
Dominated time of possession 40 minutes to 20.
It was there for the taking.

Nebraska’s 10-year, 30-game losing streak against ranked teams extends: Indiana storms back to beat the Huskers in Lincoln, 20-17.
The Hoosiers have won 22 straight games. Remarkable. IU-Ohio State next week in Bloomington.

Indiana got to the fourth quarter and remembered they were Indiana. In all phases.
Unfortunately so did Nebraska.

Another heartbreaker for Nebraska, and the Huskers’ winless streak against ranked opponents stretches another week.

The more things change the more they stay the same.
0 for 31 now for NEB.
2 for 27 for Rhule.

The Huskers have moved back into a tie with North Carolina for most one-score losses over the last 20 years (62)

Holy moly. What a bust by Nebraska's defense on 4th and 1. Nick Marsh breaks wide open for the 41-yard touchdown.
Indiana finally grabs the lead, up 20-17 with 7:13 left.
