Back in 2019, our elevator pitch for @boundlesspay was simple:
“Your favourite banking app, but with crypto wallets.”
The idea was to build a world where crypto wasn’t something you simply bought and held it could become part of how you spend, pay and move money globally.
At the time, it sounded almost unrealistic.
Crypto faced bans and restrictions across several countries. Banks wanted little to do with it. Building a product that brought traditional money and digital assets together felt like swimming against the tide.
But we kept building.
Fast forward to 2026, and that early vision looks very different.
Today, we’ve built @boundlesspay into a platform where users can access multiple currency accounts alongside crypto wallets, and use them to move, spend and make payments across borders.
The interesting part for me isn’t that we predicted everything correctly.
We didn’t.
It’s that we stayed committed to the problem long enough for the world around it to change.
That has taught me one important founder lesson:
Sometimes your vision isn’t wrong. The market just hasn’t caught up yet.
Seven years later, we’re still building that vision.
And in many ways, we’re only getting started.

Paying for launch using @boundlesspay card at the @cyberchain_ng Event had a different vibe
While attending the Tokenized Economy Event, i and a few others took a quick break to grab a meal at KFC and decided to make the payment using my BoundlessPay Card.
@boundlesspay is a crypto-inclined fintech, and this was a simple but interesting way to showcase how crypto-focused financial solutions can fit into everyday experiences.
For me, the future of Web3 isn't just about conversations around blockchain, tokenization, or digital assets.
It's also about making these innovations useful beyond the ecosystem and bringing them closer to people's daily lives.
As a Web3 Event Content Creator, I enjoy capturing moments like this with @wealthykween at KFC because they helped tell a bigger story.

Africa is a continent of 54 countries. But we should be thinking of it as one enormous market.
At the recent Africa SME Assembly, I spoke about an opportunity I believe more African entrepreneurs should be paying attention to: the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
For too long, African businesses have built with their home countries as their limits.
But with AfCFTA and the opportunities offered by Free Trade Zones, we have frameworks that can help businesses access new markets, reduce trade barriers and expand across borders.
Of course, implementation challenges remain. But the opportunity is too significant to ignore.
At @boundlesspay , this thinking is central to our vision of making cross-border business and payments simpler.
My message to African entrepreneurs is simple:
Don’t just build a business that can succeed in your country.
Build one that can compete across Africa and beyond.
Our borders should define our geography, not the limits of our ambition.
Sharing a short clip from my panel contribution. I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Another exciting milestone for @boundlesspay ! 🚀
I’m delighted to share that BoundlessPay has been selected for the @Google for Startups Immersion – EMEA 2026 program, powered by Antler.
For us, this is more than another milestone.
It’s an opportunity to learn, connect, strengthen our technology and accelerate our ambition to build financial infrastructure that makes global commerce simpler for African businesses.
We’ve spent years building at the intersection of traditional finance, stablecoins and AI, navigating challenges that have only strengthened our conviction.
The future of African fintech isn’t just about building great products. It’s about building globally competitive infrastructure.
We’re excited about the opportunities this program presents, particularly the potential to connect with mentors, investors, technology leaders and strategic partners.
Congratulations to the other selected startups, including SolNuv Technologies.
Thank you to Google for Startups and Antler for this opportunity.
The vision is bigger than ever. And we’re just getting started. 🌍

BoundlessPay was at Africa SME Assembly '26.
On Friday, our CEO, @boracle01, took the stage in Ikeja and unveiled two products built for African businesses that move money across borders:
BoundlessPay Business Suite: one place for businesses to run multi-currency payments, settlements and treasury without losing margin to FX spreads and slow rails.
BOB AI: our AI layer for business finance, built to work inside the Suite.
The room was full of founders, investors and operators asking the right questions about scaling beyond borders.
This is our answer.
We're onboarding businesses now. If you send or receive money across Africa and beyond, hit us up let's get started: Business.boundlesspay.com
Africa doesn’t lack ambition. We need to build the systems that allow ambition to scale.
Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of speaking and participating in a panel session at the Africa SME Assembly 2026, alongside some brilliant founders, investors and industry leaders.
Reflecting on the conversations, one thing stands out:
African entrepreneurs are not short of ideas, talent or determination. What we need is better access to capital, infrastructure, markets and opportunities.
Having spent years building @boundlesspay, I’ve experienced firsthand how difficult it can be to build and scale a business in Africa.
But I’ve also seen the enormous opportunities that exist when we begin to solve these challenges.
My conviction remains stronger than ever:
The next generation of African businesses shouldn’t just be built to survive their local markets. They should be built to compete globally.
A big thank you to the Africa SME Assembly team for bringing together such an inspiring community of builders.
Great conversations, valuable connections and plenty of reasons to remain optimistic about Africa’s future.
Here’s to building beyond borders! 🌍🚀

Scaling Beyond Borders. Oct 9, DCC, Stella Hall, A3C, Ikeja.
African SMEs don't struggle to build. They struggle to move money across borders without losing margin to FX spreads and slow rails.
That's the problem we built BoundlessPay for: multi-currency wallets with stablecoin rails, so a business in Lagos can settle with a supplier or customer anywhere without the friction.
Our CEO, @boracle01 Franklin Peter-Odoemenam, is on the speaker lineup.
Come find him and the team.

Africa’s next growth story will be written by businesses that learn to scale beyond borders.
I’ll be speaking at the Africa SME Assembly 2026, alongside an impressive lineup of founders, investors and ecosystem leaders.
The theme, “Scaling Beyond Borders: Innovation, Capital & the Future of African Enterprise,” is particularly relevant to me.
At BoundlessPay, we’ve spent years thinking about one question:
How do we give African businesses the infrastructure to operate, get paid and compete globally?
I’m looking forward to sharing some lessons from that journey… and learning from other builders in the room.

I’ve been named one of Africa’s Top 20 Founders to Watch in 2027 by African Startup Magazine.
And I’m in great company alongside some incredible builders solving real problems across the continent.
I’m grateful for the recognition.
But what excites me more is what the recognition represents.
Behind every founder on this list are years the public never sees.
The uncertainty.
The failed ideas.
The sleepless nights.
The difficult pivots.
The capital constraints.
And the decision to keep building when progress feels painfully slow.
For me, that journey continues with BoundlessPay.
We’re building towards a simple but ambitious idea: financial infrastructure that changes how African businesses operate, move money and participate in the global economy.
That takes patience.
It takes grit.
And most importantly, it takes the conviction to keep building before the rest of the world can see what you see.
Thank you, African Startup Magazine, for the recognition and congratulations to every founder on the list.
Africa doesn’t have a shortage of problems to solve.
We certainly don’t have a shortage of builders willing to solve them either.
Back to building. 🚀

Yesterday, I shared how one regulatory announcement in 2021 disrupted the entire foundation we had built BoundlessPay on.
After the initial shock, I went back to the drawing board.
I asked myself:
“How do we make sure one country, bank, provider or regulation can never bring down the entire business again?”
That question changed how we built BoundlessPay.
We redesigned our architecture from a Nigeria-dependent platform into a global, modular financial infrastructure.
The philosophy was simple:
Countries become plugins.
Providers become plugins.
Financial services become plugins.
If one provider fails, another can take over.
If regulations change in one market, that market can be isolated without bringing down the entire platform.
And when we want to enter a new country, we don’t have to rebuild BoundlessPay from scratch.
We plug in the right rails and go.
What started as a survival mechanism eventually became one of our biggest technological advantages.
And now, we’re opening that infrastructure to other businesses.
Introducing BoundlessPay Business Suite—our AI-native B2B financial orchestration platform.
Instead of spending months integrating different providers for banking, payments, stablecoin on/off-ramp, wallets, cards, remittance, utility bills and other financial services, businesses can access them through one integration layer.
One API.
And increasingly, one MCP-compatible interface for AI agents.
The goal is simple:
What took us years to build should take the next fintech days to access.
If you’re building a fintech, launching financial services inside an existing business, or expanding into new markets, I’d love to show you what we’ve built.
And if you’re a bank, payment provider, card issuer, stablecoin infrastructure company, liquidity provider, wallet provider or other financial institution, we’re actively expanding the infrastructure behind the platform.
Clients: come build on us.
Partners: come build with us.
The thing that nearly killed BoundlessPay in 2021 ultimately shaped the technology we’re now taking to the world.
Funny how setbacks work.
Sometimes the thing that forces you back to the drawing board…
becomes the blueprint.

In 2021, one government announcement almost killed BoundlessPay overnight.
We had spent millions building the product.
At the time, BoundlessPay was built primarily for Nigeria, running heavily on Nigerian banking rails.
We had even secured a partnership with a major Nigerian bank to power one of the most exciting parts of our model: virtual and physical ATM cards connected to the BoundlessPay experience.
We were building. We were excited. The future looked clear.
Then everything changed.
The CBN announced restrictions preventing banks from providing services to cryptocurrency-related businesses.
Just like that, the infrastructure our business depended on disappeared.
Think about that for a moment:
Months of work. Millions invested. A major banking partnership. A product ready for the market.
And then one circular changed the assumptions underneath the entire company.
That period taught me one of the hardest lessons of building a fintech in an emerging industry:
Sometimes you can get the product right, the technology right and the partnership right—and still wake up to a completely different playing field.
What happened next ultimately changed how I think about BoundlessPay, infrastructure, regulation and even the markets we build for.
I’ll share that part tomorrow.
Part 1: The day our business model broke.
