I really think Square Enix has kind of a problem... They put out 2 major - easily 100+ million dollar games- with FF7R & FF16, but apart from the die-hard fans nobody really seems to care. - FF7R Sales in the second week dropped 89% in UK, 90% in Japan - FF7 Remake sold 3.5 million in 3 days, but we have not heard anything about Rebirth's performance, probably because it's not doing as good (it was 34% down vs remake in UK) The third game will probably appeal to even less people sadly. FF16 sold 3 million in the first week, but has disappeared from charts after that. Super bad for a game of that caliber. I love these games, they are my favorite each year, but they don't appeal to new people. Capcom with Dragon's Dogma 2 doesn't seem to have that issue, it's gearing up to be one of the biggest AAA releases of the year.
