𝓙𝓾𝓙𝓾.♡ Let’s talk about the hypocrisy in this roleplay community, because honestly, some people need to take a long, hard look at themselves.
Getting other people to hang up on someone simply because they don’t want to ship with you is ridiculous. Sending bullying and nasty messages to someone through their Tellonym account because they won’t give you the ship you want is equally pathetic.
𝐍𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩. 𝐍𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚 𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞. 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐛𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐧𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐛𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮.
But what makes it even worse? Being all lovely and friendly to that same person’s face on X and Discord, pretending everything is perfectly fine, while allegedly encouraging or participating in behaviour designed to make their experience miserable behind the scenes.
That isn't friendship. That isn't being a decent member of the community. And it certainly isn't the behaviour of someone who genuinely respects other writers.
You cannot preach about kindness, community, and being welcoming while treating people differently behind closed doors because they won't give you what you want. You cannot demand respect for your own boundaries while punishing someone else for having theirs.
Roleplay is supposed to be fun. It's supposed to be about creativity, storytelling, chemistry, and meeting people who enjoy writing the same things you do. It's not supposed to become a popularity contest, a manipulation game, or a campaign to isolate somebody because they won't ship with you.
If someone doesn't want to ship with you, accept it and move on. There are plenty of writers out there. Find someone whose characters and storylines naturally click with yours instead of trying to pressure, intimidate, or turn other people against someone who has simply said no.
And remember this: **being nice to someone's face doesn't erase what you do behind their back.** The two-faced behaviour is often far more telling than anything you could say publicly.
People are allowed to have preferences. People are allowed to say no. People are allowed to write their characters and relationships however they choose without being punished for it.
If you cannot respect that, then perhaps roleplay isn't the problem. Perhaps it's time to look at your own behaviour. And maybe take a hint. Because some people are too nice to tell you that their not interested. Now stop bullying and leave my friend in peace. We are all real people behind our accounts.
Let people write in peace. Let people say no without consequences. And stop confusing entitlement with chemistry. 🖤
