One thing I always hated about UPS solutions and computers was how horribly inefficient it can be- you have to convert AC to DC to recharge the battery, then when the power is out you gotta convert the Battery DC to AC for the computers PSU to then convert that AC back to DC

@oxidecomputer does this cool thing where all their compute sleds blind mate into a 56V DC busbar which skips needing to have noisy PSUs for each individual server, I'm tempted to replicate something similar at home with pico-PSUs that can receive up to 60V DC
