It was the rife sexism in 1950s science tangent that I went off on today #keepingitlight
Shout out to everyone who goes off on a tangent every now and again and has the best lesson ever.

We have 6,9 Mio internal displaced refugees living in camps under catastrophic conditions in Congo, the highest number ever. Don't forget about the Congo.

Mr. T. on how he chose his name:
I think about my father being called "boy", my uncle being called "boy", my brother, coming back from Vietnam and being called "boy".
So I questioned myself: "What does a black man have to do before he's given respect as a man?"
So when I was 18 years old, when I was old enough to fight and die for my country, old enough to drink, old enough to vote, I said I was old enough to be called a man. I self-ordained myself Mr. T, so the first word out of everybody's mouth is "Mr."

"If I could give you one thought, it would be to lift someone up. Lift a stranger up - lift her up. I would ask you, mother and father, brother and sister, lovers, mother and daughter, father and son, lift someone. The very idea of lifting someone up will lift you, as well."

🇬🇭🧵1/9 It's been a year since X, formerly known as Twitter, fired almost all its staff at its only Africa office without severance pay, following the abrupt termination of their appointment by new owner Elon Musk. Here’s a thread on what’s happened since then.
"The Christmas Countdown isn't the cure" is an article for school colleagues who struggle with the darker days of term 2.

I have just had the loveliest lesson with a year 8 class today. Almost shed a tear watching 3 of them eagerly help others with their word equations 😭 #tweet100
Sounds exciting!
📢 Black Thrive is proud to join @NHSEngland in announcing the first ever anti-racism framework for mental health trusts and service providers. The Patient and Carer Race Equality Framework (PCREF) will ensure that the NHS is responsible for co-producing and implementing concrete actions to reduce racial inequality within their services, with the view to becoming an actively anti-racist organisation.
Our Director @DrJacquiDyerMBE has been one of the driving forces behind PCREF, as NHS England National Mental Health Equalities Advisor and chair for the Advancing Mental Health Equalities Taskforce and the PCREF Steering Group.
"It's about race equity in systems change, the scale of it is huge and deep,” Dr. Jacqui Dyer explains. “It’s getting into the DNA of how you make system improvement and you’re holding the whole system to account as you’re doing it.”
📅 Join us on 3rd November for the PCREF National Launch Webinar, when Dr Jacqui Dyer will be giving a keynote speech on the ambitions PCREF has for the future. Our CEO Dr @soucimf will discuss the role of VSCE organisations in implementing PCREF and engaging communities.

I've been advocating black health through sickle Cell for 19 years. No one cares. Cancer is everyone's problem, but we need more awareness in our community. These are books that gave me strength throughout my son's treatment. Your health is your wealth.

Sadly, PD can easily fall prey to this trap.
As well as insights, effective PD must provide:
Models → Examples of ‘what good looks like’ in action.
Practice → Opportunities to adapt, rehearse, and get feedback on a change.
Habit building → Support for making it stick.
