Who is being stopped and searched? Where do disparities appear? What happens afterwards? Our new Stop and Search Dashboard brings national and local evidence together in one place. Explore patterns across people, places and time, then check the sources and context behind what you see. See the patterns. Understand the disparities. Turn evidence into action. 💡 What does it really mean to centre youth voices? 🔗 Read our Centring Youth Voices report: bit.ly/4gke5Ew It means going beyond simply asking young people what they think. It means giving them the skills, knowledge and power to shape the research itself. Through Black Thrive Lambeth’s Young Researchers Programme, children and young people developed technical research skills and took an active role in research design and analysis. As the report highlights: “Equipping young people with technical research skills and responsibility in research design is key to empowering them to act as research leaders.” When young people are equipped to investigate the issues affecting their own lives, they are no longer simply participants — they become researchers, leaders and agents of change. That’s the power of genuine co-production: shifting traditional power dynamics and making space for young people to lead. #BlackThriveLambeth #CentringYouthVoices #YouthCoProduction #YouthVoice #YoungResearchers #ParticipatoryResearch

Racism can be difficult to name and challenge in mental health settings. Fear of saying the wrong thing can create a culture of silence, making racism harder to address. How can we move towards openness, accountability and action? Read our report: bit.ly/4x9tRZD #CultureOfCare #RaceEquity

21 August 2008. Never forgotten. Today marks 18 years since Sean Rigg died in police custody at Brixton Police Station. Sean was 40 years old. A Black man, a musician, a brother and a son. He was experiencing a mental health crisis when he came into contact with the police. What happened to Sean must not be reduced to a date, a statistic or a case file. An inquest found that police had used “unsuitable and unnecessary force”, failed to uphold Sean's basic rights, and that these failings contributed to his death. His family fought for years to have the truth recognised. Their determination exposed serious failures in the investigation and raised fundamental questions about policing, mental health, restraint and accountability. 18 years on, we remember Sean. We remember his life. We remember his family. And we remember the questions that still demand answers. Deaths in custody cannot simply become history. We must continue to demand accountability, dignity and humanity for everyone experiencing a mental health crisis, and meaningful change in how Black people are treated by systems of power. Remember Sean Rigg. Remember his name. Keep demanding change. #SeanRigg #RememberSeanRigg #DeathsInCustody #BlackLivesMatter #MentalHealth #Justice #Accountability #Policing #BlackBritishHistory
