When at Western, he hosted a lunchtime talk for my department, UCC Programming where he enthused about Shakespeare and how his work was the mass entertainment of the day. I never forgot that or him. RIP Ninian.
He seems to have taken down this post and replaced it with a more nuanced take.
Kind of amazing that he twisted it to make it about hate for the police. This isn't about the police per se. It's about how police culture contributed to this.

As a former Thunder Bay resident I'm glad to see this story told. However I wish they had used real journalists to tell the tale. There's too much self regarding melodrama when in fact the sadness of this story is all that's needed.
