The reason it’s not that simple is that I don’t want my child’s life to depend on the presence of a good guy with a gun. In most of the developed world this isn’t an issue because… they ban guns.
— An assailant overpowers you and uses your own weapon against you.
— You or someone you love takes their own life with your gun.
— A child gets ahold of your gun, with tragic consequences.
— An incident of domestic violence becomes a homicide.
