Today I was in a meeting with my controllers. We were getting an overview of @billcom 's Spend & Expense (BSE). Using BSE, #smb owners can rollout company credit cards to employees, set budgets and spending limits, have greater visibility over employee and departmental spending, and have control over that spending. The consensus among our controllers is that it's a tool that would save our team in addition to giving business owners more control. We have BSE implemented with some customers, but not all customers. There's one BIG hurdle with getting business owners to adopt BSE: credit card points. Some business owners care more about credit card points than operational efficiency. We once had a customer who had over 60 business credit cards to gamify credit card points. It was an accounting nightmare. BSE offers points with its credit cards, but it's not as robust as something you'd get with American Express or Chase, etc. Optimize for operational efficiency, not credit card points.
