Thought provoking documentary. Shows how much Deaf people had to “adapt” to the hearing world. Comes to show how much resilience we have and reflection on what could’ve been if accessibility was a given from day one with choices made with experts within the Deaf community.
‘Some people want to sign. Some people don’t. Some people want to do both. But give us the choice!’
Incredible show @RoseAylingEllis #SignsForChange 🌹
Inspiring and totally blown away you wearing our #DEAFIDENTITY ILY Hand Sign sweater 🥹
Thank you Rose ✨ #RoseAylingEllis

When discussing accessible services, we have to consider WHO needs those services. So much more is needed than just BSL; otherwise we’d still be discriminating people within the Deaf community.

Ramadan begins in 4 weeks.
If you have Muslim employees, colleagues, students, clients or partners — be aware that they will be fasting (food and water) from dawn to sundown. For 30 consecutive days.
Try to accommodate them as best you can.
(Pass it on)

This is a great piece of work being undertaken & really needed - looking at health needs/health services for CYP with SEND. They are looking at all areas of the country. Please do share with #SEND families and complete the survey. @SurreySENDLO @FVSurrey @CFHS_Surrey @SSChospices
The NNPCF have coproduced a survey with NHS England to gain the views of parents and carers to better understand how we can support health care to deliver better quality services for children and young people with SEND and their families.

Just a frustrating read for a patient’s situation. What could we learn from this and how to make this right? #AIS instagram.com/p/CoZZOattzVu/…
Very heavily in support of this. Well done. Looking forward to new changes for both patients and staff that is very much needed in protection of characteristics.

Did you know the stress associated with a toxic work environment can lead to physical and mental symptoms? This include depression, anxiety, high blood pressure and insomnia.
You deserve to be treated equitably, with dignity and with respect in your workplace.
NHS Frimley colleagues - please help? Urgent. BSL interpreter needed at Frimley but no out of hours contact details for interpreter solutions
Found. But @FrimleyHealth this needs to be transparent to patients- who is the person to contact during out of hours for this? A patient has been trying to get communication in place and she’s palliative & exhausted all her options before reaching out to the community for help.

The NHS crisis is a direct result of a 40-year plot to privatise it.

For those who don't fully understand what is up with the NHS, here is a thread for you that might help.
I'm a consultant physician working as a doctor in the NHS in Yorkshire and Wales for 32 years now. I have experienced the NHS at its best (2008) and its worst (2022).

I’ve worked in A&E for 22 years & seen nothing like this before.
The NHS is in a critical state. We need urgent action for sake of our staff & patients.
@SteveBarclay @RishiSunak we need you to listen to those who know what’s happening.

Terrible behaviour. Should be shut down immediately if anyone witness this toxic culture. We work together as one team- no “us and them”, that’s ridiculous. That poor (F1?) Dr may be put off from trying to continue their profession and we wonder why staff are leaving. 😞
Awful example of what happens to rotating drs when permanent staff don't support them/ are actively cruel. Non-rotating health workers: please challenge toxic behaviour in your departments. Culture is everyone's responsibility.
NB OP overwhelmed by response so username removed.

ALT Reddit post on "Am I The Asshole" subreddit. Title "AITA for crying when I wasn't allowed a slice of pizza". Author is an FY1 doctor in the NHS, who has been isolated, lonely and burnt out due to the job and was working the Christmas long weekend. The doctor contributed to a collection to buy pizza on Christmas day, but on the day was shouted at for trying to take some, and told it was only for nurses, that they were selfish and other cruelty. Excluded from multiple other Christmas activities also.
