They’re doubling down
No, we haven’t liquidated and no, we have no plans to do so. Selling at important seasonality lows…just as hedge funds have exited…is not how we’ve outperformed the market in 19/22 years. This decline is about one thing IMO; a resumption of kinetic action with Iran, because it looks likely. And that means this selling pressure is taking place in advance of it. To that I say “when missiles fly, stocks are a buy”. We’re primary trend followers and we use drawdowns to add to core positions. We’ll soon be doing that again.

Could Ken Griffin be bailing him out again this w/e? Would explain the reversal today. He’s the perfect contra.
Leopold Aschenbrenner might genuinely be the unluckiest motherfucker alive. After getting absolutely destroyed in July and being forced to liquidate much of his AI portfolio, he reportedly came back swinging in early September, buying hundreds of millions of dollars worth of options premium. Look at how those stocks have performed since September 8: $CRWV: -37.4% $SKHY: -25.8% $SNDK: -23.8% $DRAM: -22.9% $BE: -18.1% $INTC: -9.4% $AMD: +9.1% Six out of seven are underwater, with an average decline of roughly 18.6%. And remember, we're talking about someone who reportedly rebuilt exposure through leveraged options, not just common shares. Imagine surviving a massive forced liquidation, watching your favorite stocks recover, deciding it's finally safe to get back in, and then getting hit by ANOTHER brutal selloff barely a month later. The worst part about options is that you can be absolutely right about the long-term AI infrastructure thesis and still lose a fortune because your timing was wrong. I genuinely feel for the guy. The market has absolutely no mercy.

Wow
🇨🇳 Aili Wang, a University of Wyoming microbiology graduate student from China, has been arrested on accusations she poisoned the tea of a colleague who had pending patents and with whom she didn’t get along, and then tried to flee the country after police questioned her. Wang was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport on Oct 6 while attempting to return to China. With her were laptops, electronic storage devices and documents now in the possession of police, who allege Wang was seen on surveillance video rummaging through the desk of the victim who specialized in technology for disease treatment — research similar to work she’d done in China. Wang remains jailed without bail in Los Angeles. She bought acrylamide over eBay, and it was first detected when the victim’s wife and others tested water from the coffee maker he used to brew tea. The police investigation began after the victim “K.T.” — Kiet Tran, the man standing next to Wang in lower right pic — began experiencing symptoms and his wife and others isolated the chemical in the coffee maker water. The victim and campus police then set up surveillance cameras in the office space he shared with Wang at the university in Laramie. Wang was recorded on Sep 27 going through the victim’s desk. On Oct 1, she was recorded “taking photos and manipulating notebooks” on his desk, as well as rinsing out his mug with a liquid from her own mug. During an interview by campus police on Oct 5, Wang said she “had not used acrylamide in years.” A day later she was taken into custody in Los Angeles while in possession of “multiple laptops, multiple portable external digital storage devices, related accessories, physical records and written materials,” according to a request by Wyoming prosecutors to “significantly increase” her $200,000 bond upon extradition. Wang had no reason to go through the desk of the other student whose federally funded, patent-pending research involved new technology for cancer, neurological and genetic disease treatment. Wang “was reportedly working on similar research in China before coming to the US.” The victim as a highly successful student from Vietnam. Wang failed her first attempt to defend her dissertation and became envious of her colleague’s success in discovering how to deliver RNA to human cells using bacteria. The victim began experiencing extreme tiredness, inability to sleep and other unexplained symptoms such as finger tingling and numbness, and leg weakness soon after attending a prestigious conference in Aug. He also noticed a strange taste in the tea that he made with a small coffee maker on his desk. When he washed the coffee maker, the taste would go away. Suspecting someone in their shared office could be poisoning the graduate student, a chemistry professor tested the water and identified acrylamide — which is “not something you would find in that kind of quantity anywhere.” 63 milligrams of white powder that tested positive for acrylamide were isolated. Wang faces a felony aggravated assault and battery charge in Wyoming punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. It’s not clear when she could be extradited to the state, where Albany County Circuit Court Judge Robert Sanford granted prosecutors’ request and raised bond to $1.5 million cash-only. Wang had asked eBay to delete her account after she bought acrylamide there twice last summer. Best known as a carcinogenic byproduct of cooking starchy food and burning tobacco, acrylamide can be acutely toxic in high doses. It’s used in microbiology research involving proteins or DNA. The victim was working on a pretty promising cancer therapy method. Wang took photos of every page of a notebook the victim left on his desk. The victim continues to experience symptoms from the poisoning. Acrylamide is a neurotoxin that cannot be neutralized so it stays in neurons and basically kills them. So it’s unclear if he’ll fully recover or not. wtop.com/national/2026/10/a-…

Meta keeps leapfrogging
Meta has released Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full, achieving Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index v4.3 scores of 52 and 56 at max reasoning effort - each a material gain over Muse Spark 1.3 (max) at 48, with a release gap of only 6 weeks Muse Wonder is available for users on Meta’s first-party API, while Muse Wonder Full is currently only available for Muse Code users. Meta notes that each model is designed for personal and professional agent use Congratulations to @AIatMeta, @finkd, and @alexandr_wang on the release! Key Takeaways: ➤ Both models exhibit a material jump in overall Intelligence Index score. Muse Wonder Full (max) improves on Muse Spark 1.3 (max) across all ten Intelligence Index evaluations, gaining 8 points to 56. The largest gains were seen in agentic evaluations: Terminal-Bench 4.0 (+24 points, 33% to 57%), GDPval-AA v2.1 (+176 Elo, 1681 to 1857), and AA-Briefcase (+148 Elo, 1581 to 1729). Muse Wonder (max) gains 4 Intelligence Index points and lands at 52, with notable improvements vs. Muse Spark 1.3 (max) in Terminal-Bench 4.0 (33% to 52%) and AutomationBench-AA (58% to 68%) ➤ Muse Wonder Full (max) places in the top three on six of the ten Intelligence Index evaluations, and is particularly strong in agentic knowledge work and scientific reasoning. In agentic knowledge work, it narrowly leads on GDP.pdf (33%), ranks #2 on GDPval-AA v2.1 (1857 Elo), and #3 on both AA-Briefcase (1729 Elo) and AutomationBench-AA (71%). In scientific reasoning, it tops the CritPt leaderboard at 33% and ranks #3 on SciCode with 63%. This builds on the relative strengths of Muse Spark 1.3 (max), which also showed particular ability in these two domains ➤ Both models use fewer output tokens than Muse Spark 1.3 (max). Muse Wonder (max) and Muse Wonder Full (max) each use around 54k output tokens per Intelligence Index task, down ~10% from Muse Spark 1.3 (max, 60k). This usage is lower than similarly intelligent models Gemini 4 Argon (high, 62k) and Claude Fable 5.1 (max w/ fallback, 78k), but higher than GPT-6.1 Sol (max, 38k) and GPT-6 Astra (max, 27k). Muse Wonder Full (max) uses 16% fewer input tokens per Intelligence Index task than Muse Wonder (max) (6.44M vs 7.69M), meaning it is both more intelligent and more token-efficient ➤ Cost per Task for Muse Wonder (max) lands higher than most similarly intelligent models. Despite efficient output token use, premium API pricing ($4 per million input tokens, $20 per million output tokens) and high input token use (7.69M per task) push Muse Wonder (max)’s cost to $4.52 per Intelligence Index task. This is lower than Claude Fable 5.1 (max w/ fallback, $7.63), Claude Opus 5.5 (max w/ fallback, $5.98), and Claude Sonnet 5.5 (max w/ fallback, $5.46), but higher than GPT-6 Astra (max, $3.26), Gemini 4 Argon (high, $1.99), GPT-6.1 Sol (max, $0.72), and its predecessor Muse Spark 1.3 (max, $1.60). Per-token pricing is not currently available for Muse Wonder Full, so no Cost per Task figure can be estimated at this stage ➤ Both models gain significantly in Coding Agent performance. Muse Wonder Full achieves 68 on the Artificial Analysis Coding Agents Index at max effort in Muse Code, alongside Claude Code with Sonnet 5.5 (max, 68) and Opus 5.5 (max, 66). Muse Wonder (max) scores 63. These represent material gains over Muse Code with Muse Spark 1.3 (max), which scores 54 Other details for the two new models: ➤ Context windows: 1M tokens each, unchanged from Muse Spark 1.3 ➤ Pricing: for Muse Wonder, $4 input / $0.20 cached input / $20 output per 1M tokens. It’s like an episode of goddamn Fauda except with a happy ending. Absolutely incredible!
What actually happened with smit machchar 🚨 - A flight was coming to Dubai from Israel - Around 2 hours after takeoff, a Muslim co pilot told Smit he is going to rest a little - He went back and started stabbing Smit with a pocket knife - Smit started bleeding and the plane dropped 14,000 feet in a minute - Smit had a button to open the cockpit door beside his seat. He somehow pressed it - Passengers saw blood coming from the cockpit - The Muslim pilot started celebrating and shouting “Allah hu Akbar.” He thought nobody could save all of them now - Passengers rushed to save the pilot and some of them attacked the other pilot - A few of them were relief pilots who landed the plane safely - One of them was a doctor who saved Smit from excessive bleeding - Now Smit is in stable condition and all 180 passengers are safe No words are enough to describe the bravery of Smit Machchhar and the mentality of that Muslim pilot 🙏

Wow this guy and the pilot who opened the door! 👏
Israeli hero aboard nearly-hijacked FlyDubai flight FZ 1073: Yaniv Hayoun Hayoun has no background in security. But when he realized there was an attempted hijacking, he knew he had to do something. He ran to the cockpit and physically fought with the co-pilot, who had stabbed the pilot and was attempting to crash the plane. Hayoun put the co-pilot in a chokehold and dragged. him out of the cockpit. Others came over to help restrain him. Hayoun then went back into the cockpit and pulled back on the yoke to pull the plane out of its nosedive. The plane had dropped 17,000+ feet in under two minutes. An off-duty pilot then entered the cockpit and took over the controls, and Haroun went back out to help guard the co-pilot.

Nice save by the passengers
A violent altercation and stabbing in the cockpit of a FlyDubai flight over Saudi Arabia this morning caused the 737-8 to plummet 18,400 feet in just under two minutes, exceeding its maximum operating speed by nearly 100 kts. The aircraft landed safely in Tabuk.
