Steve Wright is one of thousands who’s health has improved thanks to regular pool time, however two of his local pools have now closed 🏊
He's worried about the impact this could have on him and many others. That’s why we’re saying #DontPutACapOnSwimming

We're building #FutureLidos by bringing together project leaders to pool resources and share knowledge.
This month @Brynaman_Lido took 40 local families to enjoy the water at @LidoPonty — and shared expertise in management, sustainability and inclusivity.

One of the joys of lidos is that each is unique. The three opening this year are equally distinctive: Sea Lanes sparkling on the seafront in #Brighton; the Georgian splendour of @Clevelandpools; and #Hull's Albert Avenue, right on the doorstep of its community. #placemaking

If you’ve ever wondered about the value a #lido can bring to a place, have a listen to this message to Tynemouth council from the Mayor of Waverley, a suburb of Sydney, on the huge contribution of their *six* outdoor pools.

Research for @future_lidos and @TynemouthPool is a privilege. It was an honour, through @davidmajarich, to speak to @paulamasselos about @bondiicebergs, Bronte and the diverse value placed on pools in Waverley. We're grateful to have her ongoing support. Thanks Paula.

The most beautiful book has just arrived, #SeaPools by @chrisromerlee, breathtaking tidal pools from around the world. Who made them, who wasn't allowed to swim in them, & some which have been reclaimed. An ode to the pleasure of natation & a call for safe access to water for all

Merseyside’s spectacular and much-missed Derby Pool and Southport Sea Bathing Lake are rightly celebrated in this feature on the history of lidos in the July edition of Swim Magazine. It’s time we had a lido of our own again…

Nantwich Brine Pool. Our closest lido. It’s a bit over an hour’s drive, and much more by public transport.
What we need is a local lido we can ALL use more cheaply, easily, greenly and frequently.
