3PLs and brands using ShipHero have picked, packed and shipped over 1 million orders so far today in what is shaping up to be a record peak season. I so appreciate the software engineers and platform engineers on the @weareshiphero team. Y'all have done an amazing job on the speed and stability of the WMS. From myself, from your ShipHero co-workers, and I think I can say from our users on this one - thank you.

Dealing with something unpleasant in my personal life. To cheer myself up… @beuno you joined ShipHero to run a small engineering team. Haha, jokes on you. @raven_xs I don’t know what you thought the job was going to be when you took it, but I bet you didn’t think you would spend a decade of your life optimizing warehouse related processes. @yohaas you were afraid you would do coding + support + everything else. Haha it happened and you are still doing it. @russelh15 from designing our first screens to coding Put 2 Light systems on Arduino boards. The only thing that hasn’t changed is the GT-R

🔍 @weareshiphero needed an efficient observability platform. 🎯 HNY emerged as the clear winner for its ease of use, in-depth visibility, and cost efficiency. Check out our new case study to see why "Honeycomb isn't just a tool; it's a revolution..." 👀 go.hny.co/3GuR8Nu

@buquebus_ar hola! andan con problemas en la pagina? no puedo comprar abonos: {"code":500,"message":"Error Interno de Base de Datos. Contacte a Soporte.","data":null,"errors":[{"code":500,"message":"Error Interno de Base de Datos. Contacte a Soporte."}]}

Ya se que pasa, por si lo quieren arreglar. Yo estaba intentando comprar abonos para 2 menores, se ve que no anda el sistema comprando solo para menores. Cuando compre con un adulto, anduvo.

As a startup some of the best decisions come by doing the exact opposite of what has been done before; and equally some of the biggest mistakes come from trying to reinvent things that won’t change. The fun is figuring out which decision is in which category.

Same at Canonical, same now at ShipHero. It turns out, having visibility and control over the queues tends to be more valuable than throughput scalability.
At @dagsterio we made the unorthodox decision to use Postgres as our message queue instead of something like Kafka or RabbitMQ (1/4)

A lot of startups fail. I was lucky enough to be part of a startup that has transitioned into a successful company. Here's some of the things that I've learned along the way as a software engineer.

I know correlation isn't causation, but I joined in Q1 2019, I can't think of anything else of significance right now that happened the following year.

As a C-level or VP, you are going to have to make people uncomfortable or unhappy on a fairly regular basis. It comes with the territory. Even as a director, delivering disappointing news is a regular part of a healthy diet. You can't make decisions based on avoiding this pain.
