I love them! Sorry for not commenting sooner — I’ve mostly bailed from this app. But I saw your IG post. They look great!!
I'm going to miss Twitter. It was a great blend of my former LJ girls, Giants coverage, celebrities I'll never meet, political snark, and no family/non-fandom friends. Threads just isn't the vibe for me yet, but maybe someday. Find me on FB (still), IG (sometimes).
So I’m on Threads, but so far I hate it. The home feed pipes in a bunch of people IDGAF about. Anyway- threads.net/t/@kayjaykay71
SJB is literally on Instagram during intermission encouraging the audience to applaud. Is it an otherwise dead crowd?
My 10yo niece recently finished reading Margaret. Now we’re watching the movie, and her 8 and 7 yo sisters are RAPT. I expect a LOT of questions when we’re done. 😇
The number of times a day I yell "It's not my fault you don't read your $#!$@# emails!" at my work computer is truly astounding.
I will never know the full anguish of parenting... of having your soul walking around inside another living being that you made, and know that you ultimately have to let them grow and be and learn and live on their own.
But I got a millisecond of that last night. No bueno.
When I say I burst into tears... OMG. She immediately ran to me and gave me the biggest, sweetest hug... and so did all her big sibs. Heck, even the 1.5YO baby was swept up in it, all six of them squeezing me, letting me know they play there all the time, and she's fine.
So I couldn't move. My entire body jerked to try to get to her, but I couldn't. And, not hearing her cry, in that split second, I was 100% convinced that she'd broken her neck and died instantly.
Then she popped out from the gap between the sofa and the rail, all smiles.
Last night, while I was babysitting, 2.5YO niece dropped over the edge of the sofa, and, I thought, over the rail to the bottom of the steps. She didn't make a sound.
At the time, I had 7.5YO niece on my lap, comforting her after an outdoor play mishap sent her to me in tears.
My bro's house has a gated stairway that opens to the basement from the living room, and their furniture is arranged so there's about a 1' gap between the arm of the sofa and the rail to the end of the stair that is otherwise open to the bottom of the steps/basement floor.
