I would generally agree! But I have tapped out my 64gb M1 Max and noticed performance degradation. So it can really depend on your specific workload / use case. I *could* use a 8 gb machine but it would be a worse / less productive experience.

Personally I would invest my time and money into Flutter. The swift compiler is not getting better, and the frustrations dealing with OS locked updates will never go away. Flutter is the only cross plat solution I would use, as it’s not just a layer on top of other UI frameworks.

Sure, I couldn’t possibly include all of that in a single tweet. If the syntax was enticing enough to someone to inquire for more information I would absolutely be able to provide.

Nope! I use my own declarative system and can never go back to URLSession or otherwise.

Looking cool! I noticed the second time the now playing page animates in the album art and song/artist text doesn’t slide up but seems to already be in place and fades in.

Nope! Not alone! Sometimes I choose violence and wish that swift had an ever shorter shorthand version:
MyObject(param: .(foo: “bar”))

If you are using an M1 try building as a Mac catalyst app, in my experience the dev cycle is much faster!

Same, I was expecting the pop up but never got it. But to answer your question I was going to avoid installing it as long as I could, for no better reason than wanting to try and only run native. But I ran into needing it pretty quickly. – at Chicago, IL

My new Mac with Monterey already had Rosetta 2 installed out of the box.

đź’Ż At first the Pro and Max names seemed a little silly, but I do really appreciate that you pick any body + chip you want without needing to consider various intel and amd chips.

I ordered one! I think Apple just read my wishlist and checked all the boxes.

Wow! Very interesting. I was not a fan of Realm and it’s mutable models. Haven’t tried out SQLite.swift but have used @ObjectBox_io since, and I have really enjoyed it. Well, as much as one can enjoy a storage solution. Might be a bit polarizing with it’s use of code generation.
