Been a pleasure to help arrange this and hoping to see a good turnout tonight. @RefsAssociation - thanks for featuring Michael in your newsletter- we're doing CPR training at our open meeting tonight to build on his amazing efforts.
This evening - SAVE A LIFE 💙 with St John Ambulance Inspired by our own Michael McDonagh, who helped save a player's life, we'll run through the first-aid skills that can make the difference when it matters most ⏰ Arrive early for a drink · starts promptly 7:30pm

Michael’s efforts have inspired my local referee association to put on CPR course with @stjohnambulance at our next open meeting. Well played Michael and @ReadingRefs - let’s spread the word and get more refs trained in this.
When every second mattered, Michael McDonagh stepped forward ❤️ Michael is your Match Official of the Year, recognised after his quick thinking and CPR helped save a player’s life.

First step 5 game tonight on the line. Clear that coaches and players are willing to listen to officials and accept new laws but naturally want consistency and have questions about application and what from WC is NOT being implemented. Fans however…. 😂 #ref

It’s not everyday your boy graduates with a first in Neuroscience. Beyond proud of him. 🥰

Was all geared up for the FA referee fitness test today but surgery 10 day ago meant I couldn’t train properly recently and therefore missed it. Gutted but hopefully have a chance to complete in December.

First park run for a million years today - cold wet and windy ☺️

Just renewed our annual membership of @ReadingRefs for me and the kids. They provide vital support, development and social connections for whatever level you operate at as a referee. Important service run by volunteers for the good of the game.

James’ final exam completed - can’t believe University has come and gone so quickly for him. Will be ace to have him home again (and then getting a job!)

48 games this season but 50% fewer middles. Much more work as AR this year on @FAWNL which has been great. Nearly 300km overall and avg middles distance now up to 9.2km - good for an old fella! Ranked in top 10% for ARs in Step 5 games this season too. Pleased with the season

Awesome to watch Erin lead the match officials last night and ref her first @BerksandBucksFA County Cup final! A member of @ReadingRefs, Erin has done a few decent games this season but last night was a really special one for her and us as a family. 🥰

Nearly the end of the season and a nice run out on the line at Henley Town v Reading YMCA. Not done as many games this season as usual but enjoyed the ones I’ve done a bit more because of that. #ref

Incredible game for Erin and the Caversham AFC u18s. Came back from 0-3 to win 4-3 in the sunshine. Very proud dad.

A really enjoyable couple of hours with the students and events management faculty team from @ManMetUni in London talking all things pitches, agencies, impact and knowing your value. Decent views from the meeting room, too 👍

When will @Deliveroo or @ReadingCouncil do something about delivery riders on electric bikes riding at night with no lights or high-vis clothing? So dangerous.

Happened to have a few conversations with Lord Triesman in 2011/2012 around the Olympics. Genuinely nice guy and very helpful to me and our business at the time. Condolences to his family. theguardian.com/politics/202…
