People get so upset when you tell them to put beats, songs and content out consistently. They cry, ‘quality over quantity!!! Take your time!!!’ We know DAMN well producers/recording artists paralyze themselves with the illusion of perfection. Not releasing music is stupid.

The new insult to producers is, ‘AI beats are gonna replace you guys anyway.’ They have AI singers, AI rappers, AI sample makers, AI fan-targeting algorithms, AI marketing tools… In other words, we all live in the same glass house. Leave the stones outside.

Whether you’re selling beats or trying to sign a record deal, know this: You can negotiate and stand up for yourself. What’s more, being willing to say, ‘no thank you’ and potentially walk away is incredibly powerful.

Some producers sell beats and knowingly give up all their rights and royalties. They claim it’s to make fast money but we know it’s because they’re scared to negotiate. It’s hardly a negotiation when they’d just be getting a standard split for what they already legally own.
